John Edwards promised Rielle Hunter they'd be together - report
NY Daily News ^ | 8/20/08 | Larry McShane

Posted on 08/20/2008 9:50:29 PM PDT by pissant

One-time Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards promised his mistress they would reunited once his cancer-stricken wife died, the National Enquirer reported.

The Enquirer - which first broke word of the Edwards scandal - also reported that mistress Rielle Hunter refuses to make Edwards take a paternity test because she fears it will jeopardize their future.

Edwards, who admitted the affair earlier this month after repeated denials, remains in contact with Hunter even now, according to the Enquirer.

The North Carolina politician called her after his Aug. 8 confession on national television, reportedly telling her: "We'll be together when Elizabeth is gone."

Unless they have this on tape, they’re just hurting Mr. Edwards’ family for no good reason.

Just think, he was almost V.P.

Good for him.

The media is not hurting Mr Edward's family. Mr Edward's hurt his own family repeatedly and tried to do to the American people what he enjoyed doing to Rielle Hunter.

We need to shove a stake deep enough into his political heart to make sure that he is never able to resurrect his political career. I'm sorry for his wife and kids but this man craves power and were it not for the tabloids he would continue his over the top behavior which would include attempts at the highest office in the land.

Maybe she is trying to make it a better life for her children after she dies or maybe she knew about it and decided it wasn’t worth the fight since she has other things to worry about that are more important than her SOB husband.

IIRC, I think they do have it from an intercepted cell call. That is what the guy (don't remember his name) from the NE alluded to on Fox awhile back. When pressed how he would have that call, he refused to answer.

I think it was Edwards' behavior which allowed this scandal to be visited upon his family. That said, if I was Elizabeth, I think I'd turn him into a castrati. It's not like she'd get anything but probation given the circumstances.

The same way they had Newt on his cell phone. And I don’t mean some “ordinary citizens” getting it “accidentally” on a scanner.

Would that be the same way that Prince Charles' (when he was married to Princess Diana) was outed telling Camilla that he wished he were her insertable feminine hygeine product?

After hearing the “We’ll be together...” line. Elizabeth Edwards should divorce his a**. Not for herself but to ensure her children’s stake in his fortune. Otherwise, he will cut those kids out at the request of his paramour.

my guess is that the loony mistress has been the “anonymous source” all along.

It has been documented how she spoke poorly of Elizabeth.
This is more bile she is throwing at the suffering wife.

Wonder how much Elizabeth's insurance policy is?

Good thing they don't live in Oregon.

I agree with you - Elizabeth needs to get out NOW for the children’s sake. Hunter will hurt them even more than she is hurting them now... and if she DOESN’T get what she wants, she’ll be even more dangerous.

Elizabeth, please, save your children from this evil creature!! Give custody to your parents, or to some God parents, or anywhere that John can “visit” them supervised from the safety of a loving, stable environment - one that is closed to this golddigging menace.

Yes, and remember, Elizabeth repeatedly said that they were going to go ahead with his campaign because she couldn’t deny the country of John, that America needed him...this was after she KNEW he was a lying, unfaithful scumbag!

For her kids, and for herself. That man is a sack of dung. If he hadn't got caught, he would have been nailing her again before his wife was cold in her grave.

Remember, Elizabeth is a lawyer, too. She should take him for every penny he is worth. Since his political career is finished (thank God!), there is no way she should let him go on planning his life after her death without making him pay and ensuring that the future of her young children is secure. Lord willing, she will survive the breast cancer again and will be around to see him suffer.

Since Edwards cheated on his wife, I wonder if he also cheated his clients.

A story broke yesterday in the DC area - a personal injury attorney, Stephen T. Conrad, skimmed at least $3.5 million from his clients. He forged the signatures of at least 50 clients on settlement claims. Apparently it came to light when one client happened to call the bar association wondering why he had not received the money awarded him two years earlier.

I tell you, Edward's girlfriend is a real wacko. I think Elisabeth should be taking steps to ensure that her craziness is exposed, and that her own children will never have to live with her husband and that woman! What could be more important than protecting her children from that woman?

She should be documenting everything. Throw the bum out of the house, change the locks, and seek to have her children placed with her daughter, when she dies.

I hope she is on a macrobiotic diet, and taking excellent care of herself. She needs to live a good long time. And she needs to make sure that this man, who is waiting for her to die, will not be making life medical decisions for her!

Who knew? Mike Schiavo and John Edwards, two peas in a pod!

I believe it is illegal to intercept phone calls.

More likely that the girlfriend is the source for all their information, and their photos.

She has an adult daughter. The little ones don’t know what this is all about, but I really feels sorry for their older girl. She has been through so much already. She has had to suffer through her brother’s death, her father’s political ambitions, her mother’s illness, and now this mess by her self centered dad. The last thing she needs is to have that crazy Rielle in her life!
