Can anybody out there figure out whom "undecided" Miami Herald columnist Myriam Marquez will ultimately vote for in the November election? Gee. It is really tough to figure it out but perhaps we can investigate a few elusive clues starting with the title of her column, "McCain must move past old Bush mantra." Hmm... Not enough information there. Perhaps we can discover Marquez's preference by analyzing her column which discusses the appearences of both candidates at the VFW convention in Orlando. First the money quote from Ms Marquez:
Still on the fence, like so many other undecided Americans, I'm hoping to see McCain move beyond the old Bush mantra of ''you're either with us or against us'' and patch this blue-state and red-state quilt into one proud nation again.
Ooh! She's on the fence and undecided. Right now, after viewing that Bush slam and the title, I still have absolutely no idea whom Marquez will vote for. Let us first investigate what she had to say about John McCain:
I've always liked McCain's independent style, but the statesman seems to have morphed into an intransigent mini-Bush.

South Florida FYI.
Yeah, and I'm the tooth fairy...
Thats like the "lifelong" Republicans who are voting for Obama this election.
Ok, so let me get this straight. When exactly did you make the decision that everything you stood for all your life is 100% wrong, you liberal trying to fool everyone that you're a "lifelong Republican"?
She hasn’t decided between voting for Obama or Nader, or writing in “Hugo Chavez.”
Come on guys. This is the Miami Herald, after all. If she didn’t write it this way, her editor bosses (by the way, Anders Gylenhaal, late of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, is her boss) would have her writing articles about sick plants for the Herald’s “Neighbors” neighborhood magazine.
I must say that after reading the article I too am mostly mystified. I would say George Bush, but he's not running so frankly I'm stumped.
Sunday, July 20, 2008 - Myriam Marquez's First Column -
Today was Myriam Marquez's debut as Miami Herald's Metro columnist, replacing the recently departed Ana Menendez.“A victory for this wife and mother of two sons: The boys know not to bring home a Che Guevara T-shirt from college.”
Essentially, Marquez paints herself as a political moderate with a hint of social liberalism, who's not afraid to criticize both sides of the political spectrum. Based on her track record as columnist at the Orlando Sentinel, I would say that's an accurate assessment...
She must not realize that Obama is a Marxist. Poor girl.
She’s only undecided between Dem vs Green Party
The rest of the American written press have proven (with the Edwards Affair) that they are below minimal journalistic standards.
Who cares about anyhthing that appears in the Miami propaganda sheet?
Myriam Marquez is a yuppie douche. I met her once at a party.
