Update from the Road
Governor Gilmore has been hard at work this week, starting with some door to door in Northern Virginia, and hitting the Prince William and Rockingham County fairs.
Want to know how you can help? Check out our volunteer calendar on the website for events in your area!
Yard Sign Signup
As many of you know, Labor Day is the traditional kickoff for campaigns in Virginia. While we've obviously been hard at work for the last several months, help us make a big splash by signing up for a yard sign! Show your friends and neighbors that you're going to support the candidate that we can trust to bring down high gas costs, Jim Gilmore.

A Very Bad Day for Mark Warner, Olympic Edition
On a more serious note, we'd like to wish a speedy recovery to former Governor Mark Warner, who apparently didn't quite qualify for the US Basketball team in Beijing this year.
Senate Hopeful Warner Slowed by Injury; Gilmore Campaigns in Fairfax
August 16, 2008
A basketball injury kept United States Senate hopeful, Mark Warner (D), from hitting the campaign trail in Charlottesville Saturday.
Warner was scheduled to meet voters Saturday morning at the Charlottesville Farmers' Market and then go door-to-door in Albemarle County.
His press aides told reporters Saturday, the 53-year-old suffered an undisclosed injury on the basketball court this week. Supporters say the injury will not slow Warner down for too long.
"Mr. Warner is an athlete and I understand he's had a basketball injury flare up. I'm sure that he'll be fine, but, you know, he's got to take care of these things," said Sen. Creigh Deeds (D-25th District).
Last week, Warner was asked to deliver a keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention. He is scheduled to take the stage in Denver a week from Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Warner's opponent, Jim Gilmore (R), spent the day in northern Virginia. Gilmore went door-to-door in Fairfax County and talked with voters at the Prince William County Fair.
....
Thanks so much for all that you do. With your help we will win this race and bring common sense Virginia Values to the US Senate!
Sincerely,
Matt Wells
