If I can stay awke for it, Terry’s take on the Saddleback spectacle might be interesting.
I think Rick Warren wanted to establish a positive venue and to go directly at such a buzzing beehive would not have been in keeping with the desired approach. I’m certain there were immigration/illeagl invasion questions, probably many, in the stack of more than 15000 questions for the candidates he received by invitation.
Where does McCain stand on IAs? We've got to seal the border. (Yeah right) I can tell you exactly how that will work.
Then we have to have comprehensive immigration reform to bring them out of the shadows.

I wish I could say that, too. Still ticked off at the ignorance of the conservative base for dropping the ball on that one. The next four years are going to suck. Hopefully, McCain will select a veep who can make us proud down the road.
