Nuance: Obama almost says Clarence Thomas didn’t have enough experience to serve

And we know what horrible outcomes can arise when people without experience are placed in positions of great power. InstaGlenn accuses him of actually saying it but thats not true: Watch him catch himself mid-sentence, the first fateful syllable of the word experience already out of his mouth, before he stops short and switches gears by basically calling Thomas a moron instead (at least, at the time) an aspersion reinforced a moment later by the implicit contrast he draws in praising Scalias brilliance. A golden gaffe, narrowly avoided. Stay classy, Barry.

To all you McCain doubters out there: If you did not see Pastor Warren’s forum tonight don’t miss watching it! McCain totally BLEW OBAMA AWAY and I am not just exagerating for McCain’s benefit. He was in 150% form and was quick with the answers. So quick that regardless of Obama going first with the same set of questions, McCain had 15 minutes left over and the host joked about having to play a hand of poker to run the clock out. McCain was AWESOME!

Of course, every liberal knows that blacks just aren’t very smart. Scalia and Thomas are not very different in practice. To Obama, Scalia is brilliant, Thomas is a moron. Why is that?

I have been all over the left wing blogs and they are totally in disarray over this forum tonight with many of them reduced to insisting McCain got the questions ahead of the forum! The best they can come up with is their candidate, Obama, showed he “cared” for America so much more than McCain.
This was a serious WIN for McCain tonight and will reverberate. Obama is TOAST at the debates and that is why his handlers will only allow 3 debates.

That’s certainly true.
But also can you imagine a white candidate speaking diparagingly about Justice Thomas’ intelligence, comparing him unfavorably with Justice Scalia? I don’t know which of his genius advisors told him to do that but I think it was DUMMBBB!
To: Free ThinkerNY
Doesn't Obama claim to be a Professor of Constitutional Law? One need only then compare the legal writings of Obama and Thomas to discern which is the real legal scholar.
Has Obama authored ANYTHING the purports to be legal scholarship? Or is it sufficient that he has "empathy" for the plight of others?

Cliche away. You're absolutely right. Let's compare Clarence Thomas' qualifications for Supreme Court Justice to Barry's for President. Thomas: Assistant Attorney General of Missouri, counsel at Monsanto, assistant secretary of the US Department of Education, Director of EEOC, judge on the US Court of Appeals. Has Barry ever held down a real, honest-to-goodness job? Sorry, "community organizer" and professional politician don't cut it.

Has Obama authored ANYTHING the purports to be legal scholarship? Not to my knowledge. When he was editor of the Harvard Law Review, he did not author a single paper of his own. AFAIK, that is truly odd.
I assume it's all part of his MO. Take as few strong stands as possible so people don't know who you really are.

Hell, even their high school and college transcripts would identify the real scholar. Clarence Thomas was a star student in high school and at Holy Cross while Barry was a "B" student in high school who ended up at third-tier Occidental before latching on to one affirmative action program after another at Columbia and Harvard.
To: Free ThinkerNY
Obama would not nominate Scalia or Thomas -- two who voted for our side on the Second Amendment in Heller versus D.C.
Amazingly there are gunowners who will vote for Obama.

Has Barry ever held down a real, honest-to-goodness job? Sorry, "community organizer" and professional politician don't cut it. You are not being fair. Barry was a bigtime civil rights lawyer.
Just because no one can find a single case that he has ever argued in court is no reason to wonder what the hey he actually did at the lefty law firm where he practiced...

Obama answered on an Obama/McCain Q&A the he would nominate Supreme Court justices who decide based on their own opinions rather than on the history and substance of the Constitution. In other words, justices who make it up as they go along.

They have nothing to worry about, since we all know that the Founders were just talking about using bolt-action rifles for hunting, not using real guns to fight an oppressive regime (like they just finished doing when the Bill of Rights were drafted).

(1) Grade inflation. (2) Occidental's standards are low.

To Obama, Scalia is brilliant, Thomas is a moron. Why is that? that is an excellent question and should be posed to Obama... does he agree more with Justice Scalia's "interpretation of the the Constitution" than with the interpretation of the Constitution by Justice Thomas?" why doesn't anybody ever follow up with ask these questions?
To: William Tell
Obama has published NOTHING of a professional nature—just his two memoirs. Not even in the Harvard Law Review when he was the “editor.”

"They have nothing to worry about, since we all know that the Founders were just talking about using bolt-action rifles for hunting, not using real guns to fight an oppressive regime (like they just finished doing when the Bill of Rights were drafted)."
They won't be laughing when the gun-grabbers go after their "high powered sniper rifle" (their .30-06 scoped deer rifle). For that matter, I doubt their lever action .30-30 would be safe, as they can be used as deer guns as well. If it fires a round big enough to kill a big deer, it can easily kill a person. Ultimately, if it goes bang, they want it out of citizens' hands. I'll never understand the gun owners that don't realize that we're in this together, and the hoplophobes plan the same outcome for us all: disarmament and probably repression.

I would not have nominated, duh, Clarence Thomas, uh, I dont think that he, uh-uh-uh, I-I-I I dont think he was an exp...a strong enough jurist or legal thinker at the time for that elevation... I almost thought he might've said "I don't think he was an exc(ellent)", but he definitely said "was an exp...". He may have cut off the word experience, but he merely restated the same thought via "not strong enough...for that elevation."

But seriously, did Barry really appear with all that Gray in his hair, as I saw on another thread?
He has been the avenging angel, young and strong, and suddenly he gets enough gray to become the old barber that cuts Grandpa's hair?
There has to be a “separated at birth” picture that I'll find.

Clarence Thomas had more judicial experience than Obama has of executive experience.True, but anyone who ever had a judgeship would fit that description, since Obama has no executive experience.
Incidentally, at the time of his appointment to the SCOTUS, Thomas did have nearly a decade of government executive experience under his belt as the chairman of the EEOC under Reagan and Bush 41.
