Why not just attach your car to the one in front of you and let them tow you. You could even turn you engine off. That will save a ton of money on your fuel costs. That is unless you are the lead car. It makes as must sense as anything coming from Obama.

A better way is to roll down the windows, ease up on the car infront till you hear and feel a fluttering. You are in the groove and can back off a little. If it is a truck,you can back off a lot.

Back in the 70s I had a small, light car that would draft big rigs on the freeway -- it was dangerously close, but I could take my foot of the accelerator (and be ready to stomp on the brakes). Tried it only twice and for only long enough to verify it worked. (I was much younger then...)

At high risk, definitely. Young and foolish. But believe me, I made sure things were clear a long ways ahead and behind first, and was ready to hit the brakes if anything seemed wrong. The first time I pulled back when the car started moving forward on its own -- a strange feeling.

I can confidently say there's a thrill when your car eases into that spot, and that it is truly possible to draft big rigs. But none of it's worth the risk or the fear.

Just take my word for it.
