“Russian [military]” and “protecting civilian population” are really words that shouldn’t be found in the same sentence, unless it also includes “fail” or “disregard.”

Misty (I think that's her name) wanted the President to pat her bottom for good luck.

If it is so normal and wholesome for a 60 year old man to pat a 20 year old's butt in public go post these pics on the "dose" thread.

Heck for that matter post them on the bulletin board at church and down at the grade school.

If South Ossetia does not want to be part of Georgia, then it is perfectly okay for the Russians to step in and protect their independence.

I may be outside of the normal FR posts here, but this is the kind of freedom we were preaching for other break-away republics from the Soviet Union and Russia.

They have apparently been independent since 1991 and Georgia attacked them first.

I believe the righteous position is to side with the South Ossetian people here against Georgia.

In any event, the world will be a more peaceful place if we just let break-away regions break-away and become independent states. You can’t force people to live together and if they don’t want to, just separate them and things will be fine.

The world is an economically integrated unit now, NOT a politically integrated one.

“Get lost Newbie. “

You sounds like a lussy Liberal.
Can you answer me a simple question?
Why Georgian can live in Georgia and ossetians cannot live in Ossetia?
And why Georgia wants Osetia to be Georgia, when ossetians doesn`t want to be Georgian? They wants to be Osetians.
And again.
Ossetian has no problem with Georgians living in Georgia so why Georgians so upset about ossetians living in Ossetia?

Why so many Russians in Chechnya? Why can't Russia just get out of Chechnya since Chechnyans don't want to be Russian?

You stupid Russkies are really screwing yourselves here and furthering the cause of Chechnya independence.

We need to arm these patriotic Georgians the same as we helped the Afghans in the early ‘80’s. Let Putin taste some significant Russian blood.

If you had read my posting history over the past 72 hours you would have seen I am defending Georgia. Yet- you attacked me and my posts.

What side are you on?

Either way, you have a strange way to make "friends."

LOL, you are right on with that sentiment. Those contingency plans are on the board and can be implemented easily. If Russia pushes this, they will be implemented, to include Chechnyan attacks inside of Russia. The Serbs will also get some too.

Thanks again. It’ll be great to go back to discussing the current war, instead of one from ten years ago that has little bearing on the discussion.

Your photographs are being removed because they were taken by an AP photographer. AP images are shot on sight, and AP articles must be excerpted. You are not being persecuted. And you should know better.

Yesterday the President visited the US women's volley ball team. Misty (I think that's her name) wanted the President to pat her bottom for good luck. It is my understanding that “patting the bottom” is a good luck tradition in beach volleyball. President Bush was a bit embarrassed so he patted her back instead.

That certainly puts the picture in a different context. Bikini clad Volley ball player babes ask for a pat on the butt for good luck. President Bush, instead pats them on the back -- photo snap -- upset posters, the whole thing.

The poster told you that the President didn't pat the babe on the butt. So what exactly is your problem?
