Latino Surge: Census a Snapshot of Utah's Future?
Salt Lake Tribune ^ | 08/07/2008 | Brandon Loomis, Rosemary Winters and Tony Semerad

Posted on 08/09/2008 5:13:56 AM PDT by kellynla

Latinos have led Utah's robust population growth since 2000, surging faster than other residents in 28 of 29 counties, according to new U.S. Census Bureau estimates. In some counties the shift is explosive, such as a 121 percent jump by Latinos in Wasatch County, where the rest of the population grew by 30 percent from the 2000 Census through July 1 last year. In other cases, the diversification just kept chugging along: 48 percent Latino growth in Salt Lake County, which increased by 12 percent overall. The demographics report shows a blending of cultures and colors statewide - a trend experts and advocates say is starting a political shift that will crescendo in a generation. Even in Tooele County - the only one where the Anglo spurt outpaced the percentage growth by other groups - Latinos added more than a quarter to their numbers since 2000. Statewide, the Latino population has swelled by 105,000 - to top 306,500 - since 2000. That's a 52 percent leap. Latinos now comprise nearly 12 percent of all Utahns (and most experts agree the real number is higher).

As usual, lowering the prevailing wages for all wage earners wherever they show up in significant numbers.

The Tribune refused to say if these "Latinos" were legal or GASP...illegal aliens!

In my opinion, a more interesting question is whether the majority of the population of Utah still consider Latinos a cursed, dark, and loathsome, and a filthy people, full of idleness and all manner of abominations as per the teachings of the Book of Mormon [e.g. 1 Nephi 12:23, Jacob 3:5, Alma 3:6, Mormon 5:15]

What the heck is a latino? Are Italians “latino”?

Most central and south Americans are a mix of native indian and spanish/portuguese ethnicities.

I hardly think the word latino is a proper description, since the root of the word implies a Latin connection (in other words, being descended from Roman/Italian blood/culture).

Ask the USG for the definition of Hispanic/Latino. They use the definition to grant such things as affirmative action, minority business set asides, etc. 87% of all immigrants entering the US qualify for such preferences.

"implies a Latin connection"

It is based on language type. French, Italian, Spanish, etc are Latin languages

Semites speak semitic languages. You speak a Germanic language.

'Tend to have'? ... Those don't have to be birthed by the matriarch of the household, here's why.

My wealthy cousin has a common-law wife (they refused to get married as a sort of 'anti-religion' protest) whom he moved into his household to cohabit with when she was twenty and he was forty. They have three beautiful off-spring (the daughter is in her twenties so she's no longer a kid, and the two boys are teens now). However, during their life together, my cousin and his mate have 'adopted' three or four Mexican girls into their home whom they have fed, clothed, and sent to public schools for education, then acquired college assistance for.

Now don't get the idea that these girls are deadbeats. Far from it. Tow of the three are very bright and conscientious, receiving degrees and now perhaps 'adopting' more Mexican children. Would we call that being 'family oriented'? I wouldn't. I see it as a modern invasion practice. Yes the girls are smart and not afraid to work, and their educational level belies superior adaptation ability. But they are achieving then acting as anchors for more of the southern invasion, and it is all based in illegality except my cousin's mate, she went through the long and arduous process of citizenship (which took more than a decade to complete!). But her respect for the laws of this nation are missing else she would not function as an enabling and participating system for illegals invading America, nor would she exploit the 'aide' system of our culture. BTW, she now has a PhD from a State University! She is what the higher education system has become, an antithesis to the rule of law and a Republic under the Constitution. She is the epitome of lawlessness yet she is totally unable to see that reality since she serves her agenda, first.

And my cousin, being the typical 'wealthy liberal' (wealth built upon evasion of tax laws through smart accountants and some hard work, as opposed to the typical blue-collar liberal voting democrats into office repeatedly) that he is, skirts tax laws, expects government aide for anything he deems worthy, and gripes constantly that the government should be offering more welfare to more 'needy people', but he himself does not believe in charity out of his pocket.

It has never dawned on my cousin that his mate has been exploiting him for more than two decades, making him accessory to an invasion of illegals. And should he awaken to the reality, he would, in the usual liberal style, shrug and opine that the world needs changing. From such despicable liberals the Obama support is drawn.

Yes, yes. Latin languages versus Germanic languages.

But I don’t believe that the term latino is based on language type.

Italians, French, Spanish, Portuguese, and Romanians are all within the Latin language family, but they are not latino.

So I do think that the term latino is a malapropism. Ethnically, the people that we currently describe as ‘latino’ are descendants of native americans with a twist of spanish/portuguese. Their language may be Latin, but ethnically they are not.

The term ‘negores’ is an effort to inflame racial divide. In reality, my white nacestors were servants to wealthier folks at times, did that make them ‘negroes’? Cut the racial crap. Americans want cheaper labor, regardless of the skin color. It is a human trait not confined to the continental US.

“The term ‘negores’ is an effort to inflame racial divide?”

Says who? You?

Illegal aliens are being exploited just like the slaves were. And the slaves were Negroes...or didn't you know that. If you can't comprehend that; that's your problem;not mine!

“In reality, my white nacestors were servants to wealthier folks at times, did that make them ‘negroes’?”

Not unless they were Negro?

“Cut the racial crap?”

And just who are you to be judging me much less telling me what I can say and can't? You might try cleaning up your language before you start pontificating to others...the old “pot/kettle” thingy...

“Americans want cheaper labor, regardless of the skin color?”

and just what kind of “American” are you who's looking to exploit illegal aliens for “cheap labor?”

If you can't afford to pay a person the going rate to clean your toilet, then clean it yourself. LOL

“It is a human trait not confined to the continental US?”

Whether it is or it isn't; doesn't make it just...or legal!

Class Dismissed!

I want to clarify something regarding Terry Anderson, to whom I listen occasionally and whose following is growing at FR. The term ‘hate crew’ isn’t aimed at Terry. There is a certain cadre of listeners among the faithful weekly group at FR who are always full of hate and seem to have an irrational hatred for McCain and anything connected to the current leadership of the Republican party. This ‘hate crew’ often gives the Terry Anderson weekly thread a bitter flavor not instigated by Terry.

That’s not fair...

kidnapped in Africa

and sold into slavery,

brought to the US in appalling, inhuman conditions on ships against their will,

and forced to work for white plantation “masters”,

raped and breed liked brood mares,

not free to leave any time they wanted to..

if they ran away they could be whipped and killed...

Illegal aliens are free to come and go as they please,

nobody has imprisoned them,

nobody made them come here,

they are breaking our laws to be here..

nobody whips them and makes them work,

nobody kills them if they leave..

So...

Set your illegal aliens free...

Flee little illegal aliens...

I keep this paper work on my desk all the time cause this keeps coming up.

Any of you that are tired of hearing the lies keep this in mind.

The true number of illegals is more like 38 million with 36 million illegals and 2 million visa overstays.

If this sounds different from the 8-12 million you hear from the DBM here is why.

IN a book entitled "The social Contract-- Illegal Aliens:Counting the Uncountable" former Fed. Prosecutor and US--German Marshall Fund Scholar James H. Walsh documents these numbers like no one else could. Walsh has done exhaustive studies using homeland security DHS,22 Fed. agencies, academics, demographers, economists, environmentalists, you name it.

Using a conservative annual rate of entry at all borders he takes the DHS average of 1.2 million apprehends per year and multiplies it by 3 to 3.6 million per year. Then multiplying that by 10 for the 1996-2005 period, his calculations come to 36 million. His calcs are conservative and now several years old so who knows how many are here now.

We won't have to speculate. We will watch it happen. Once they receive amnesty and the tens of millions of family members that they will sponsor to joi9n them, they will break the country. In fact they already are in the process of doing it.

The proportion of immigrant-headed households using at least one major welfare program is 33 percent, compared to 19 percent for native households.

The poverty rate for immigrants and their U.S.-born children (under 18) is 17 percent, nearly 50 percent higher than the rate for natives and their children.

34 percent of immigrants lack health insurance, compared to 13 percent of natives. Immigrants and their U.S.-born children account for 71 percent of the increase in the uninsured since 1989.

One of my biggest worries, especialy if bamby get in, is that many of the producers, those who actually pay the freight in the US will just leave or figure out how to transfer their weatlh out of the country even more than they are already doing.

IF I were an oil company executive what choice would I have? If this happens we could be living in a whole new country and quickly.

A "latino," is not you, or Charles Boyer, or Napoleon.

It is a person from the colonial cultures that were spread throughout the globe by the Empire of Spain during the 14th through the 19th Century; a person who has some unspecified quotient of Spanish "blood" and whose place of birth uses Spanish as the primary tongue.

However, as a practical matter, in the all-knowing halls of the US Government, a white Chilean or Argentine, and most definitely a Spaniard, would be tend to be considered neither a "latino," nor an "Hispanic." There is an unspoken, yet very real skin color test, known unofficially as " Matching the Brown Bag" to which one is often subject in order to benefit from Affirmative Action Programs as a Latino or Hispanic.

South of the Border

South of the Border,
Down Mexico way,
Where the illegal aliens leave their homes in droves each day,
They’re rather not work there,
Why should they, they say,
When American workers subsidize their play...

South of the Border,
The Mexicans move,
To a neighborhood near you because it pays so good,
Free food and schools here,
The ERs are full,
North of the Border,
In the Gringos’ ‘Hood..

South of the Border,
There’s ghost towns there now.
All of the Mexicans have brought Mamacita, the goat, and cow,
The chickens have dug up the gringo’s nice lawn,
North of the Border,
There’s even the sow.

North of the Border,
My kids speak Spanish.
Forget about asking them politely will they wipe a dish.
It’s all No Comprende, and todo lo que,
North of the Border,
They wont speak English

South of the Border,
Down Mexico way,
Our politicians give out free invites to one and all
“Live in AMNESTYVILLE,
Amigo”, they call
“Hey, South of the Border
C’mon North, Y’all”

South of the Border,
Down Mexico way,
I’ll chip in gladly if the illegal aliens leave today,
Go Greyhound, and I’ll pay
Just go on back home
South of the Border,
Down Mexico way.

The Latinos they preached to became Mormon and moved to Utah

This started the chain of Latino & Mexican immigration to Utah. Legal and illegal

Scary stats? Yes, indeed they are. And when the democrat party whines for universal health care what they are trying to establish is yet another entitlement program with which to lure more illegals and gain democrap votes. The democrat party stealth welfare state is what is even more scary, if you realize the democrats are purposely approaching the enslavement of America into a nanny state run by the democrat master grifters.

France is a Latin language and Quebec was colonized by French colonials.

So would French Canadians be considered Latino then also?
