The slogan is “Go West” and the enthusiasm is high-level. Retired Army Colonel and decorated war hero Allen West is poised to return Congressional District 22 in Florida to the side of the Republicans. His positions are clear and his motives are genuine. “I want to continue to serve my country. As an Officer in the Army I took an oath to abide by the U.S. Constitution. I will continue that devotion in Congress,” said LTC West while visiting Young Republicans and friends at the Soldiers’, Sailors’, Marines’, & Airman’s Club in New York City on August 4, 2008.
What excites most people about LTC West is his commitment to conservative principles and his ability to communicate those principles persuasively. He is an unapologetic Republican and attributes 2006 losses in Congress to “Republicans acting like Democrats”. LTC West spoke of economic restoration and fiscal responsibility; keeping America on the offense against global terrorism; eliminating caps on domestic oil production; and a return to traditional family values. These incentives in Congress go a long way in building our economy, protecting our families, and places us one step closer to energy independence.
Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, LTC West is the son of a World War II Veteran. As a young boy, a love of service to America was enshrined in his heart. Just as appealing, LTC West is a polite, gentlemen with the kind of Southern charm that warms even the most hardened opponent.
In addition to his vast military and leadership experience stretching over 20 years (awards include a Bronze Star, three Meritorious Service Medals, three Army Commendation Medals (one with Valor), and a Valorous Unit Award), LTC West has two masters degrees, taught high school in Broward County, Florida and has worked as an advisor to the Afghan army.
These qualifications are a recipe for success! Success for the Republican Party and its mission and success for the Nation!

West is a committed conservative who sinned in speaking the truth about 2006, and that's exactly why he won't be invited to speak at the RNC. He's probably better off disassociating himself from the modern Rino GOP anyway. Let him get elected, then he can blaze his own trail.
I will be stunned if he's invited to speak. He can't even get the Florida RNC to help him campaign in a Republican district that has gone Republican for years and years up until 2006. The GOP wants to move to the center. They don't want guys like West mucking up their grand plan.
I am glad someone gets it, I am sick of the mccain/rino koolaid drinkers.butt,but, he's not obama. or he's not a democrat,ect. He will give us conserivate judges on scotus lol. yeah right. I don't by it, the mccain and rinos are in soro's pocket.
I am praying that he wins, I wish he was my congressional candidate....rotten gop didnt even put up a candidate in my district!

Not gonna happen! Conservatives are nothing but a nuisance to the GOP........but they still want our votes.
America needs Col. West! Help him get into office - it’s the least we can do. Never give up!
I'm not at all happy to have to vote against someone rather than for someone, but that's where I am.
However, it is men like West that I will actively support for office, and will be proud in doing so. I will hope that conservatives can take back the party, but I will not be party to the possible sacrifice of America's future by allowing a militant, American hating marxist like Obama to become president by voting for anyone other than McCain, or by simply not voting at all. I have many, many problems with McCain, but one thing I'm sure about is that he loves his country. I don't think Obama does, and it's a damn dangerous game to play with our future if we allow him to be elected.

He is definitely 500 times more worthy to speak at the convention than almost any other leader. What I don’t understand is why this isn’t a no brainer (except for the lack of strategy among the NRCC, RNC in general). After Katrina was pinned on Republicans (even though the Dem. governor was the one who ordered the 48 hour hold), you’d think that the party would do more to support its great minority candidates. Where’s the strategy?
