John Edwards repeatedly lied during his Presidential campaign about an extra-marital affair with a novice film-maker, the former Senator admitted to ABC News today.
In an interview for broadcast tonight on Nightline, Edwards told ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff he did have an affair with 42-year old Rielle Hunter, but said that he did not love her.
Edwards also denied he was the father of Hunter's baby girl, Frances Quinn, although the one-time Democratic Presidential candidate said he has not taken a paternity test.
Edwards said he knew he was not the father based on timing of the baby's birth on February 27, 2008. He said his affair ended too soon for him to have been the father.

The DEMOCRATS almost nominated this abomination of a person as their Presidential candidate in 2008 and we ALMOST had him as a VP in 2004!

Don’t like Edwards anyway, the real hypocrisy here is that edwards absolutely used his wife’s cancer and his devotion to her in an effort to save his presidential campaign. Of course, as with Elliot Spitzer it’s hard to know how much the wife’s own ambition was involved.
So what’s the deal? He had the affair but didn’t love her. Does that soften the blow to say he didn’t love her? But he’s also saying that it’s impossible that he’s the father of the baby becaue the affair ended before that. See where the story goes, could be interesting.
It is really tragic for a family to be drug through the mud so publicly. Prayers for the Edwards family to work this out in the best interest of the children.
The real losers here are the Edwards’ children...They have to deal with their mom dying of cancer and their dad cheating on their dying mom...want to bet they don’t see much of him when they are grown up?
The LA TIMES has repeated not covered this story, saying it was heresay, etc. They even mentioned why they wouldnt cover any of the incident in their new “blogs”
Even among the libbies, it has raised eyebrows.
I suppose their idea of utopia is a land where all needs are taken care of so they can devote themselves to full time satisfaction of their desires.
No wonder they're sympathetic to Islamic fundamentalists. They both have the same ultimate fantasy.
So he admits that he paid her over $100k to travel with him and that they had sex. But he insists that this ‘affair’ - I’d call it an ‘arrangement’ - ended over a year ago and that the kid’s not his and that he has not been supporting her. But then he admits he visited her and the kid in a hotel room booked for just that purpose just a couple of weeks ago.

I agree, it will be interesting to see how the MSM finally address this. Are we in for “all men cheat ...”. He states he didn’t love her. The baby is Not his, he just passed her around to the rest of his staff. Sure says like he respects her. But lets first and foremost, follow the money...

Looks like our straight-arrow media publicizes embarassing news about democrats just as soon as they are told they’re permitted to! I wonder how you anounce a 10 day old “breaking” story? Naturally since he doesn’t “love her”, it makes what he did to his wife perfectly OK. Another class democrat with designs on the White House. Will the supply never end?
