Fight or Die Republicans ( Michael Reagan )
humanevents.com ^ | 08/08/2008 | Michael Reagan

Republicans have their backs against the wall, facing a bloodbath on Election Day that will leave the party in shambles and the nation in the hands of the worst conglomeration of demagogues, scoundrels and loony leftists ever put together in our nation’s history.

When you’re fighting for your life, you have two choices: whimper about your plight while the other side cuts you to pieces, or fight as if your life depends on it, which of course it does.

Dark as the outlook for survival may seem, there is a ray of light that if taken advantage of can not only save the GOP, but turn it into a rout of the Democrats that could make Election Day a victory celebration for the Republicans instead of a mournful wake.

The Democrats, who have long shown a shocking talent for snatching defeat from the jaws of near certain victory, are now trying mightily to commit political suicide, yet the majority of elected Republicans are either too blind to see a golden opportunity handed to them on a silver platter, or too stupid to take advantage of it.

Think about it, the vast majority of Americans -- almost 80 percent of them -- are angry and demanding that Congress allow drilling for oil here in the mainland United States, offshore and in Alaska, and the Democrats are thumbing their nose at them and adamantly refusing to lift the ban on drilling.

So Michael Reagan trumpets that the whole idea of the Republicans refusing to leave the House was his idea..........no modesty there.

I would say this has changed considerably! I will not vote for McCain, but I will vote for conservatives in congress. I suspect now because the liberals are acting so incredibly stupid by preventing even a vote on drilling the American people might just rise up and tell the dems, you're fired!

Independents and fencesitters will elect McCain.

That's the best idea I've heard for a long time. Please tell me where Ann is so I can "join" her. The mortician would never get the smile off of my face.

I heard Michael Reagan tell some representative to do just what they've done several days before the scheduled recess.

I think it was Mike Pence on Monday or Tuesday of that week.

I told my wife at the time it would be great if they did but I didn't think they had to guts to do it.

I am very happy to have been proven wrong.

I support them in every way. Call them all and encourage them as I have. Call those who haven't yet participated and ask them why they haven't. Call local radio talk shows and talk about it. E-mail family and friends and tell them about it.

Sons of America arise and take our government back from the professional parasites.

I put this page up on my website host.

Why do you say that? McCain is the one coddling the DBM/dems at nearly every turn.

Just because McCain gets elected President doesn't mean he will nominate conservative judges. More likely he'll nominate rino's which will be much worse. Boy, that Souter really turned out to be a real gem for conservatives did he?< /sarc>

I told Rep. Carter that with the Democrats fleeing town in droves the Republicans in both houses needed to get back to the Hill and by their presence there in the empty House and Senate chambers demonstrate the Democrats’ shameful refusal to respond the demands of the American people,

I said they should demand that the vacationing Democrats come back now and respond to the people’s wishes for a solution. I also said that the president needed to call the Democrats’ back to deal with the crisis.

Wow! We owe it all to Michael Reagan!

Not!
