That is not actually a big number when you consider that the south fought a defensive war on it’s own ground against an attacking army. The only time they ventured north they got crushed at Gettysburg by a general on his third day on the job.
That said, the south had superior generalship throughout in the war. But there were other factors.
by the way, I love living in the south and I won’t ever move back to the north. Southern by choice!

This is an important story. It will be interesting to see how far Russia is willing to go. Russia would like for the whole region to be a puppet of Moscow.

I doubt it. We had a lot of troops there a few years ago when I was there. I bet we still do.
It’s the pipeline, ya know.

Isn’t the Georgian Army well-trained with American advisors on ground?

Yes but Russia has a very low birthrate and they’re currently the sick man in Europe. Until they increase their birth rate and decrease their mortality rate,

Very good point, and I agree with you. Which is why I think we need to draw the line at Ukraine's eastern border to keep the Bear in his cage. Otherwise, the Poles will indeed feel the threat and we will end up with a hair trigger situation in Middle Europa that will be very dangerous. The Russian's love to probe for weakness and when they find strength they back off. Don't forget , they still have a fleet at a Ukrainian port on the Black Sea and military people in Moldova.

Yes, that is true. But they are still pissed about losing their empire, and coupled with their Nukes and high oil prices that give them a high income, they can still do some serious damage in their neck of the woods. All I'm saying regarding this thread is that Georgia may be a “Bridge too far” for the US and we might have to let things run their course in Georgia even though those folks are our friends. Geography matters.
