You're running for president, Senator Obama. A little girl asks you a question, "Why did you start running for president?" It's a seven-year-old, Senator. You tell her because you love the country. You tell her because this is the greatest place on earth, that we've got challenges, but you want to help the country through it. You don't tell a seven-year-old that her country isn't what it once was. You do not lie to seven-year-olds and tell them that your country sucks. You just don't do it, Senator. America is no longer what it could be, what it once was? How the hell would you know, sir? Your experience has only been in one part of America, elite, leftist academia. Oh, and with Jeremiah Wright. You've hung around with a bunch of people who do hate this country, there's no question about that. But for crying out loud, to a seven-year-old? It seems that Obambi must be nostalgic for the Clinton years and the Carter years, because it's hard to think of any other times in US history that could begin to meet his socialist weasel requirements for what America "could be" -- certainly not any times under eviiiillll Republican administrations, and certainly not during the Vietnam War, and not during any time before the Civil Rights movement and the Voting Rights Act, etc. had brought us to a certain level of eguality of rights and opportunities......
So tell, us Mr. Obambi, when exactly did this "America" exist which would please a socialist like you?? Are you simply dreaming of the Clinton years of such unblemished virtue and righteousness? Well then we might as well elect Hillary and get the realy thing. (heaven forbit it!)

Rush had a black-victim caller that actually said we were great when the pilgrims landed.
My memory is that he simply dithered on national television and could not come up with any sort of coherent answer at all. He didn't end up saying anything. Could not get out a sentence. He was asked the question by one of the national newsmen at the time. Wish I remembered which one.
Okay, I just watched the video linked above. In the video, Teddy gives a way-too-long-winded answer, but it’s much better than the one I remember seeing on television at the time. I wonder if my memory is totally wrong, or if I saw a different interview. I really am puzzled, now.
