It looks like a once beloved figure in the so-called antiwar movement is about to face a humiliating rejection by her peers.
Three years ago this August, anti-American activist Cindy Sheehan was foisted on the American people by Marxist front groups and their allies in the mainstream media.
Sheehan became a media darling when she was attacking President Bush over the war in Iraq. She became a household name--more well-known than the first soldier to be awarded the Medal of Honor in the war on terror, SFC Paul Smith--for her nearly month long protest of President Bush in Crawford, Texas during his vacation.
Sheehan fell out of favor with the media and subsequently her activist allies when she turned her wrath on the Democratic party for their failure to fulfill their promise to end the war in Iraq when they took over Congress in 2007.
Sheehan, whose claim to fame was the combat death of her son, Army Specialist Casey Sheehan, in Iraq in April, 2004, announced she would run as an independent against Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi in her San Francisco district.
To get on the ballot, Sheehan's campaign would have to submit 10,198 valid signatures of registered voters.
An urgent announcement went up this afternoon on the local Bay Area Indymedia website stating that Sheehan's campaign was over 600 signatures short for qualifying to get on the ballot to challenge Pelosi.
The San Francisco Bay Guardian quotes a press release they received form Sheehan's campaign today:
The percentage of "valid" signatures that the SF Department of Elections are allowing is getting lower and lower as we get closer to our goal.
We turned in 1932 on Monday and they invalidated 49% of the signatures.
We turned in 425 yesterday and they invalidated 78% of them.
The thing about that, is that I personally checked every signature in that batch, and I came up with a 55-60 percent valid rate.
We figure at this rate, we need to turn in 3000 by tomorrow at 5pm.
HELP! HELP! HELP! We have 24 hours......
According to a report in SF Weekly, Sheehan's campaign had submitted 13,300 signatures as of August First. They quoted Sheehan as saying then, "Now that we have the signatures, we can start the campaign in earnest."
Oh well, there's always getting yourself felt up by cops in front of the White House for a photo-op left--maybe.

Does she have a job? Who is supporting her?

You know, after you'd personally witnessed almost half the signatures determined to be fraudulent, you would think you might get a clue as to your relevance. How many times do you need to read the signatures of Claude Balls, Jerry Atrick, and the like before you get the hint? I wonder how many signatures are signed, "Casey Sheehan"?
She will need far more help than I can provide in 24 hours. At best she will need a decade of intense physco-therapy, with a little waterboarding thrown in, before anyone will consider her near normal
I will always remember one Sheenan.
Sheehan’s fifteen minutes is at 24 months, five days, six hours, fifty two mintues and counting...
Her backers should have gone Craftsman. They could have gotten a refund.
I have no sympathy for her, only disgust. But it is sad what the rats did to this family. They used this disturbed woman and then threw her away.
Good luck Sheman
A new Campaign slogan should do the trick......
Drill Here...
Drill Now....
Free energy...
maybe now she will realize that everyone wants her to just go away.
I almost feel sorry for her. That montage at the book signing is truely pathetic.
Drill Here
Drill now
Drill me, I'm desperate.......

Mother Sheehan Alert!
Maybe she can go on a speaking tour with Ron Kovick.
"Create Public Opinion, Seize Power: We are preparing minds and organizing forces for the time when there is a major crack in the system, whenever it comes and wherever it comes from: an opening that makes it possible to bring the future Revolutionary Army of the Proletariat (R.A.P.) into the field and wage a revolutionary armed struggle that actually has a chance of winning. And we have said that building our party itself is the most important part of organizing forces for revolution. This is true now, and it is true looking forward to the creation of that future R.A.P. and the waging of that armed struggle.":

Should we help Cindy? Oh my, what a moral quandary!
I simply think she is one of the saddest, most pathetic figures I have seen. As much as I have a polar disagreement with her approach to nearly everything from her personal life to her politics, I can’t feel more than pity for such a sickly person. I find it pretty remarkable given how much I hate what she is standing for.
She is one of those people I look at and say to myself: “Boy, I sure am glad I am not in her shoes.”
Perhaps they both can move in with Chavez.
Well she might actually be better than Pelosi. If nothing else a two way race would waste lots of liberal commie donor money.
Hmm, why shouldn’t we help her get to that magic number? It’d be nice to see Nancy Palooka face some competition from someone belonging to the same mental category.

No, and you are taxpayer! :o)
OK, me too. oH sNaP!
Precisely what are they doing in that picture that is causing all the grinning??
Come on Craven Moorehead and Phil McCracken, it isn’t funny anymore

Don’t forget Hugh G. Rection, I think there are about fifty people using that name in the SF Bay area.
I just had a light turn on! Obama should vet Sheehan as his veep choice! She could be a perfect match.
/sarc :)
There are reports on the moonbat blogs that Cindy Sheehan is claiming she got a call from the S.F. Board of Elections today informing her she qualified for the ballot.
