Gypsies Jailed After 20 Year Robbery Spree Including £80million ($160m) Burglary

Although these people are called Gypsies, and behave about like them, I think they are not related to the Roma or regular Gypsies. As others have pointed out these people are also known as Tinkers in Scotland and Travelers is Ireland and the U.S.

I am not certain that the Tinkers and Travelers are the same people either.

I am sure one of the travelers came by my Father's house and inquired about paving his driveway. I told him my Father liked it unpaved. He was young, handsome, driving a new pickup with a South Carolina license plate. I noticed a few months later that one of these contractors was convicted of fraud in a nearby town. He was basically given a slap on the wrist but at least had to reapy the victim.
