Mitt Romney made the rounds of the morning cable news shows today, declining again to address vice presidential speculation but aggressively pumping up the man who would pick him -- John McCain.

Some GREAT zingers from Mitt!
"Romney called Obama "both ways Barack" for softening his opposition to more offshore oil drilling. And he said Obama is "like an Internet date" -- appealing on the surface, but someone who will lose support once Americans get to know him better because he does not have the experience or judgment to be president."

If McCain is determined to pick a liberal for VP, I’d rather see him choose Lieberman instead of Romney.

I can’t stand the idea of having someone else wearing the “Most Moronic” crown, so I have to offer this in an attempt to wrest it back to the proper head - mine.
Here it is: the Moronic Dream Ticket- “McCain-Gore”
Now may I have my crown back?

If Mitt is anything, it is loyal. I admire that, even though I think a Mormon might hurt McCain (weaken the Obama Muslim issue).

I've been getting EMails from Eric Cantor... Here's one today... Call Congress Back! From: Rep. Eric Cantor (repcantor@cantorforcongress.com) Sent: Mon 8/04/08 5:19 PM To: A Lovely Conservative FReeper Dear Friend, Last Friday, the United States House of Representatives, under Democrat Leadership, adjourned for a 5-week vacation. Normally, no one would raise an eyebrow; however, when the Democrats left, they did so without passing any form of energy legislation. They have left for over a month without doing anything to help lower gas prices. That means we'll see another month of inaction on the energy crisis. The Democrats left, they turned off the lights, they turned off the cameras and they turned off the microphones. But, House Republicans did not leave. That's right, House Republicans are still here, talking to the American people, demanding that House Democrats come back and ease the increasing burdens on families. Republicans are fighting so that the American people are not left high and dry. Now, we need your help. Join us by signing this petition to call on the Democrat Leadership to return to Washington, DC, to pass a bill that will increase American energy supply, open up offshore drilling and eliminate our reliance on foreign oil. This is supposed to be the People's House. It's unfortunate that the Democrats don't see it that way. Sign the Petition at www.CallCongressBack.com today. "The five states with least favorable business climates are Califorinia (lowest ranking), New York, Michigan, New Jersey and Massachusetts." Romney was rated a "C" overall by Cato.
As U.S. real output grew 13 percent between 2002 and 2006, Massachusetts trailed at 9 percent.
* Manufacturing employment fell 7 percent nationwide those years, but sank 14 percent under Romney, placing Massachusetts 48th among the states.
* Between fall 2003 and autumn 2006, U.S. job growth averaged 5.4 percent, nearly three times Massachusetts' anemic 1.9 percent pace.
* While 8 million Americans over age 16 found work between 2002 and 2006, the number of employed Massachusetts residents actually declined by 8,500 during those years.
"Massachusetts was the only state to have failed to post any gain in its pool of employed residents," professors Sum and McLaughlin concluded.
In an April 2003 meeting with the Massachusetts congressional delegation in Washington, Romney failed to endorse President Bush's $726 billion tax-cut proposal.
[Cato Institute annual Fiscal Policy Report Card - America's Governors, 2004.]

Oh yeah. Let's let Myth Romney ruin America like he did Massachusetts. [/s]

Yes I know, I always liked the way Romney has a sense of humor and strength when pointing out the faults of his opponents positions. He does it with strength and in a way that does not demean himself. He is a man of character only real men can do what Romney does. That is why his detractors are so off base, they are not seeing the truth clearly because if they did they would see that trait about Romney and apprecicate it. And if McCain picks Romney it will make McCain’s likeability factor go way high. It is already rising. McCain has a reputation for holding a grudge against Bush, true or not, picking Romney would shed a different light on McCain. I am starting to appreciate McCain, and if he picked Romney he would have my full enthusiastic support. I will vote for McCain anyways, it would just be nice for McCain to pick Romney, it would be a very good decision.

It’s so sad that you can just can make a statement and some will believe it just because they saw it in writing. I hope people look at Romney and how he conducts himself and how he has lived his life and not your paint brush. I hope people are smarter then that. Because if they aren’t it would be real easy for the opposition to taint our pool of potential good leaders. They already have destroyed potential good leaders and falsely promoted weak candidates. People need to wake up. I am tired of the Bob Doles of this world. I like the Romney types, people with some force behind what they say people who aren’t afraid of their own shadows. By the way, people who can just talk it aren’t good enough. The congress if full of blow-hards who can talk it but who can’t make a damn thing happen. I like leaders with ideas who can make it happen. People who can talk it but who can’t make it happen only empower people like Nancy and Hillary. If that’s good enough for you then so be it.

I think Governor Huckabee is a hateful vengeful fake Christian. He is probably a friend of the Clintons. He is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Look at his kids, they are a disgrace. I know single mothers who did a better job of raising sons who are real men. Huckabee’s kid is a punk. The fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree. You want to know what someone thinks of Huckabee, I just told you.
