Israel Allows in Gaza Fugitives

Israel has allowed 180 members of a beleaguered clan loyal to Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas to enter its territory from the Gaza Strip.

The Fatah faction supporters ran to a border crossing after a day of bloody fighting with their bitter rivals Hamas, who control the territory.

An Israeli army spokesman said some had laid down their weapons as they approached the crossing.

The injured among them were sent to Israeli hospitals, he added.

Fatah and Hamas blamed each other for starting the fighting on Saturday, in which nine people were killed.

Reports say that the clashes broke out during a raid by Hamas on the stronghold of a local pro-Fatah clan.

Hamas had accused Fatah supporters of involvement in a bombing a week ago that killed five Hamas members and a young girl. Fatah denies this.

Why is Israel this stupid? Let one side kill of the other, and then kill the one remaining side. Easy enough.

Could this not work in Israel’s favour? I se them as (perhaps) gaining a bit more respectability in the eyes of Fatah and the West Bank (whom they deal with), while further isolating Hamas in Gaza (whom they don’t)...

Perhaps granting temporry sanctuary to one antagonist in the inter-Pali struggle may further embitter the other, as well?

Absolutely not.

There's really no difference between Hamas and Fatah. They both want to kill Jews and destroy Israel. I suppose the one way Fatah is different from Hamas is that Hamas doesn't say they won't do this in English and then say they will do it in Arabic.

Besides, if you look at the history of Hamas, it came into existence because Fatah wasn't killing Jews or destroying Israel fast enough.

Perhaps granting temporry sanctuary to one antagonist in the inter-Pali struggle may further embitter the other, as well?

There isn't any real sanctuary though. Both groups continue to attack and kill Jews unabated. Israel shouldn't be helping either of them. Let one kill the other, then nuke the ones who remain. Problem solved.

I see Fatah regarding them as weak, stupid and patsies.

Let in soldiers, but deny entry to sick children and infants?

The Jews I know call them "Oven Jews", with good reason.

Aw poor Hilles clan! We must intervene to save these innocents. I’m sure they are the nicest people in all of Shajaiyeh...

At least Hamas disarmed lots of members of Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigade. Doing what Israel cannot do for itself.

“Besides, if you look at the history of Hamas, it came into existence because Fatah wasn’t killing Jews or destroying Israel fast enough.”

My understanding was that Hamas gained power because of the rampant corruption so common under the Fatah regime.

Will the mass liberal media remember it was Israel, not the Islamic Hamas butchers, which Arab Gaza residents are fleeing, heading into southern Israel for safety?

That is not reassuring at all ... Both groups are scum ... however Hamas is the more dangerous of them IMO. Nationalists seem to be a little more level headed ... than Islamic Extremists (Hamas)

Israel disarmed the West Bank sucessfully. Israel could disarm the Gaza if it wanted to ... unfortunately; Politicians from all over the world have prevented that from happening ...

Normally, I agree that Islamists are worse than Arab Nationalists. Both are dangerous, though.

But I have a particular disgust for Fatah & their militant wings like Al Aqsa Martyrs because Israel supplies them, gives them money, ignores their terrorist acts against Jews, allows them to be in charge of jailing terrorists who then walk freely (well Israel is not much better than that anymore, either!), & is ready & willing to hand over as much as they can to them.

So now I prefer brutally honest Hamas who won’t even lie to us about peace treaties & just honestly state that they want to kill us all. Fatah feels the same, but Jews love to fool themselves. The harsh honesty of Hamas is the only thing that will make Jews face reality.
