Obama Retains Strength Among Highly Educated

PRINCETON, NJ -- Barack Obama has by far his greatest strength among voters with postgraduate education, while John McCain has his highest level of support among voters who have a college degree but no postgraduate education.

Obama wins overwhelmingly among blacks across all educational levels. An analysis of the vote by education among whites (with blacks and Hispanics taken out of the equation), shows McCain does much better against Obama among whites in general than he does among nonwhites. The presumptive Republican nominee in fact "wins" in each educational group of whites except those with postgraduate education

What percentage of people with a doctorate work in the public sector? I think the majority of people with post graduate educations are civil servants, and probably most of those are teachers. I think that explains it.

I have a postgraduate degree and can't stand Obambi . . . or McVain either, for that matter. My theory is that the overeducated tend to think they are smart enough to run their fellow American's lives as well as their own.

Either that, or someone who can make a living on a single college degree majored in engineering, accounting or something with real world application, therefore they live and work in the real world and are less likely to be impressed with a media creation like Obambi.

I think a more true statement would be "...the more you depend on it." People who have been sheltered by academia or welfare have spent so much time on the dole they are scared to death of taking care of themselves. No matter what they think of it, letting someone else pay their way is the easy way out.

That’s who the “highly educated who support Obama” are - the leftwing profs that couldn’t work in the real world.

ELITISM, isn't it a great (sarc). The more education a person gets the more they think like obama. They think, you poor poor under-educated people you do not have enough education to to take care of your own so we most take your money and do it for you. I have to change my tag line to;

Libs want a two class system, one rich and one poor. I have been advised that not all dems think like obamaboy.

It's all about control.

How about: “Obama Retains Strength Among Thoroughly Indoctrinated”?

You are right on the mark. Much of the support for Obama among the affluent and well educated reflects conditioned reflex rather than reason. It is the result of half a century of the frantic denial of reality on American campuses, the construction of the mental equivalent of epicycles to explain away the fact that everyone is actually different, and substitute the myth that we are all really interchangeable. The latter is a necessary premise to justify Socialist redistribution of wealth programs, and also to convince affluent mainstream Americans of their guilt for the failure of others, so that they may go to rallies and cheer calls for destruction of the heritage that made their affluent lives possible.

The hour is very late, and if we do not cut the Gordian knot of egalitarian environmentalist nonsense--the esssential foundation for all Totalitarian movements--we are going to lose everything of real consequence.

Yep, social workers versus scientists. The "A" science students go to the private sector and make huge bucks. The "B" students teach or go to work for NASA.

The "highly educated" masks a more significant reality.

Obama has extremely high support among the institutionally employed which covers 95% of the "highly educated."

I would like to see what the numbers are for privately-employed and self-employed PhD's. I'm willing to bet they are pro-McCain.

Consider that most post grad educated folks self-select and are filtered before entering that realm. They are embedded in their profession and the culture is leftist.

...”I say they can’t be that ‘Highly Educated’ if they buy all that Hope and Change BS.”...

I hold BS and PhD degrees in two medical sciences. I am as smart as any of the so-called “highly educated” voters who support Obama. In fact, I would say they really are not educated, in the sense that they cannot be critical thinkers and support Obama or anything today’s democrat party stands for.

I am smarter than Obama. He evidently is a product of quotas at Columbia and especially at Harvard Law. I do not support his candidacy - I see right through him like I saw through the Clintons in 1992. He represents a real danger to America, in particular with a democrat-controlled Congress.

"Obama Retains Strength Among Highly Educated"

"I say they can't be that 'Highly Educated' if they buy all that Hope and Change BS"

On the contrary, that they believe it is proof that they are highly educated.

I used to walk amongst those ranks -- bachelors, masters, and PhDs from elite private universities. Every one of them is leftist, arrogant, and elite, and every one of them hates his or her own country.

Rush Limbaugh once said that it takes a lot of work -- a lot of leftist indoctrination at public high schools and colleges -- to turn an American youth into a liberal.

Find me a liberal and I'll prove that he/she has a masters degree in sociology from Berkeley, a PhD in psychology from Harvard, or a bachelors degree in journalism from Columbia.

Dennis Prager tells of a funny incident one time. He was at the park with his toddler son, age one, running around one Saturday. A few moments later, a slightly older boy -- well-raised, didn't look like a thug -- aggressively pushed his son over. Other than crying, no real harm done.

Dennis watched the boy's mother run over, and the minute she opened her mouth he knew she had a sociology degree from some leftist university.

She didn't scold her son. She didn't spank him or pinch his arm to show her disapproval. Instead, she took him aside and lovingly asked him, "Jimmy, what's wrong? What is making you have such hostile feelings?" A typical educated liberal that believes feelings matter more than actions.

No, I'd be surprised if Obama was not winning over "educated" Americans. He can have them. If McCain gets "uneducated whites" with common sense he will win the election and Obama will lose.
