A former American overseer of Iraqi prisons says several dozen inmates who were members of Saddam Hussein's military and intelligence forces boasted of helping transport weapons of mass destruction to Syria and Lebanon in the three months prior to Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Don Bordenkircher who served two years as national director of prison and jail operations in Iraq told WND that about 40 prisoners he spoke with "boasted of being involved in the transport of WMD warheads to Syria.
A smaller number of prisoners, he said, claimed "they knew the locations of the missile hulls buried in Iraq."...

GOOD Post thanks.
What are the odds that Bashar Asshat will let some of them slip to Hezbullah?
Syria already has gas and bio weapons (I believe they have bio, too). They were armed before this and might have gotten a few more from Saddam.
And Syria has a lot of SCUD’s or so the story goes, with many launchers; should they ever be foolish enough to launch gas or bio at Israel, it will be a whole new ballgame.
Everyone (including dems) knows they were moved. Although, we did manage to take out (bomb) a good portion of them. Just didn’t get them all.
looky...
I’m sure most of it was flown back to its country of origin after the run to Syria. Russia.
Google Earth shows many mines on the Syrian side of the
Leb. border,,,(near Israel),,,
I don’t take anything off the table at this point...
There is the matter of the centrifuges. These devices were being used to enrich the nuclear material into weapons grade U-235. Open sources identify that the US Government has a satellite capable of detecting the unique frequencies generated by high speed uranium centrifuges. We detected such centrifuges operating in locations all around Iraq. The evidence of such centrifuges points to one unmistakable conclusion: weapons grade materials were being manufactured by the Saddam Hussein regime.
That Saddam Hussein possessed such enriched nuclear materials is indisputable with the evidence of the centrifuges. I am sure that the movement of such materials was also detected by satellite as it left Iraq.
The mystery is why the fact of such material movement out of Iraq been kept in such secrecy by the Bush Administration?
I can only speculate that U.S. Intelligence wants to keep a close eye on such material without letting those who have it know we have the capability of watching them closely.
Big Deal.
The Sheep will never believe it.
I still haven’t learned where that 20 tons of chemicals came from that the Jordanians stopped on their border to Syria, which was going to be blown up in downtown Amman. I know they were talking about 20,000 or more casualties.
Bush probably figured he would get more usable mileage out of making nice with the Rooskies than he would get by releasing the info to the Democrats.
They had plenty of time to move them because we spent that time telling the UN we would invade the country. What happened to the good old days when you just declared war and invaded? This “diplomacy” non-sense bites us in the butt all the time and we still get told we should have went the “diplomacy” route. sheesh.
“The mystery is why the fact of such material movement out of Iraq been kept in such secrecy by the Bush Administration?”
The only mystery to me, is why some still see it as a mystery.
Its a stubborn refusal to admit that Bush was right.
The mystery was, why Bush, and other Republicans, did not fight to prove he was right.
"Four of the prisoners civilians attached to the Iraqi military said they worked at the al-Muthana Chemical Industries site. They said the cargo included nitrogen mustard gas warheads for Tariq I and II missiles."

I suspect it is because they had real intelligence and actually give a damn about the consequences of its proper use.
This brings out a point which I emphasize to friends who insist WMD did not exist.
Who in their right mind would suppose those in positions of authority and reposnsibility for national security would ever tip their hand as to what they actually know about the capacities and identities of their true enemies, when it is obvious those enemies are very real and seek to hide in the wide open?
There do exist people in this world who are very evil.
Some of them are very attracted to tools of power and WMDs are the pinnacle of military weapons in the juvenile, but criminal minds of such people. Those who are more mature in unrighteousness and evil conniving schemes are drawn to WMDs like flies to honey.
From an intelligence perspective, if one doesn’t have physical control of those weapons, nor the persons who seek them, then the information and timely intelligence of their likely location and disposition is critical. Revealing that information merely abets the cause of the enemy to become more stealthy for that is their intent.
The only weakness in keeping such information secret is the checks and balances on those who hold the information to make sure they do not use that same information as internal enemies of the Constitution.
In the past, the high value of both the weapons and the intelligence created a self checking power system in government such that only those with more power and authority always held control of those highly valued elements. Such is the Worldly system.
This helped s/:
WALLACE: Now, the president never said that Saddam Hussein was an imminent threat. As you saw, you did say that. If anyone hyped the intelligence, isn’t it Jay Rockefeller?
ROCKEFELLER: No. I mean, this question is asked a thousand times and I’ll be happy to answer it a thousand times. I took a trip by myself in January of 2002 to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Syria, and I told each of the heads of state that it was my view that George Bush had already made up his mind to go to war against Iraq, that that was a predetermined set course which had taken shape shortly after 9/11.

Is OUSSBAMA aware of that !
What will he say?I am anxiously and eagerly waiting
Saddam and his loyalists were known for dispersing assets during times of conflict. They sent MiG-21 aircraft to Saudi Arabia to keep them safe from Iranian bombing during the 1980-88 Iran/Iraq War. And of course, they sent various SUs, MiGs, and ILs to Iran during the Persian Gulf War. Would not be suprising that they also cleaned out the garage before Operation Iraqi Freedom.
I am wondering if BUSH will speak LOUD and CLEAR about that before November, after the dems Convention?...
Could be a BIG BLOW for the libdems!

leading further suspicion to what we already believe to be so . . .
I’d just love to see the all-time killer October Surprise.
Yep, that too. ESPECIALLY that!
Excellent article.
I was thinking about that last night. It didn’t get much air time. Nothin’ to see here folks. Move along...
I agree. I’m surprised by the lack of response from the online media, particularly outlets more sympathetic to the war in Iraq.
