Yeah. That's the reason. They want things to be more affordable for us. That's what motivates them. That's why JC Penny can sell a winter jacket in March for $2.50. When they charged $65 for it in October.

I thinks it's the models more than the uniforms.

We basically gifted them with 100 years of technology, marketing savy, and a steady massive income stream. When it blows up in our faces, I’ll be saying I told you so.

>>“damn the unions” rant!

But the unions were complicit in the cost overruns on the Alaskan Pipeline. They, along with environmentalists, directly contributed to pushing Atlantic Richfield to near bankruptcy and facilitated the acquisition of ARCO by British Petroleum.

The unions are a significant reason why BP is now the largest producer of Oil in the United States of America.

Tyranny of the Appetite.

There you go again, pointing out that reality is more complicated than "good guys" v. "bad guys."

I often despair for the day that conservatives learn who funds their enemies. The useful idiot leftists are even worse.

And with a HALF BILLION DOLLAR TRADE DEFICIT, Americans should be buying from people who keep them in business...

The lion's share of America's trade deficit has to do with the price of oil.

and how many Chinese were shopping in your town today? Not many, I trust.

The average Chinese isn't going to be able purchase consumer items the way the average American is. However, the government of China has wanted to reduce the deficit for a long time via purchase of high tech equipment. This has been discouraged by the US government. America instead, continues to steer China towards purchasing American made consumer products rather than investment products. Which really isn't fair to the Chinese, the buyer should be allowed to choose what he wants or needs.

Understood.

AMERICANS WORK WHEN YOU BUY AMERICAN GOODS!

Well, most of what I spend money on is made in America. The food that I eat (which is significant when you including eating out), the electricity that I buy, the insurance for my house and home, the interest on my mortage all goes towards American establishments. Not to mention the 500 bucks I just plunked down to get my car fixed. The doctors that I see and the medical treatment that I receive is all towards American services. The taxes I pay (which represent a large portion of my income) is used to purchase police and fire dept protection, maintain the roads, and government services. All employ American workers. Lets not forget the armed forces as well.

My income also goes towards many daily house hold needs, soap, tooth paste, laundry detergent, tissue, etc. All made in the US.

Very little of my income goes towards products made in China.
