A new website campaign designed by a British power company recruits children through games, badges and cartoons to enlist as "Climate Cops," actively keeping records on their parents and neighbors for violations of "energy crimes" against the planet.
The "Climate Cops" website encourages children to investigate family and friends and "then build your 'Climate Crime Case File' and report back to your family to make sure they don't commit those crimes again (or else)!" The site also warns children that they "may need to keep a watchful eye" to prevent future violations.
A link on the site for teachers to download free materials for building lesson plans indicates the website is targeting children from ages 7-11.
The so-called crimes children are to watch for are listed on a poster (visible at right) and range from leaving the tap running and failing to use energy-saving light bulbs to running the dryer on a sunny day and putting hot food in the refrigerator.
The website also encourages children to download a series of "Climate Crime Cards" (such as the one pictured below) in which enlisted "Climate Cops" can keep an ongoing record of their family's violation of energy "crimes."

It was the same with the push to use seat belts. I remember as a kid the schools pushing us to get our family members to wear their seat belts when riding in the car. I remember getting onto my Mother about it several times. LOL! Looking back now I feel pretty stupid.

why the hell do I suddenly feel that Orwell’s prediction of a futuristic GB is prophetic? You’ve got all kinds of survelliance and now Crimes against the State, err, Mother Earth. But you better not offend the Muslims.
I feel depressed whenever I see Great Britain here nowadays. In 100 years, the tiny island that promised so much to Western civilization will become dominated by Muslims and society and the benchmarks of progress will all be thrown into the ocean. It will be a case where a civilization regresses back to the stone age and I think to myself about how all of the greats will be gone and forgotten.
Hopefully GB, the whackiest politics today, will stop kvelching about Baa Baa Black Sheep and will take great measures to assimilate Muslims into society, or deport those with hostile feelings who are only in there to conquer or to bankrupt. Unlike the snow in December, this is actually pretty serious.
Perhaps I need to stop reading FR and take a break. Reading about how stupid some people are(many of the British Fed bureaucrats for one) takes a toll and causes me to have a headache.

I let my kid play pbskids.org until I found out there was a little cartoon all about the environment and after watching it just once, he was repeating all that garbage.
I told him no more pbskids.

Oh yes PBSkids, been through that one. Wife and I de-program our daughter on occasion, but the kid has a good head on her shoulders and a good “BS meter”. She will tell us the latest global warming/enviro-wacko clap trap from school,then give us a logical reasoning of why it is bunk. She’s only 10.
