Is there a pro-Obama bias in the media? Only if you at it from a certain point-of-view according to "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams.
Despite allegations of just the opposite, the wall-to-wall coverage of presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama's trip to the Middle East then to Europe wasn't a sign of bias - it was just the media attempting to "educate" according to Williams.
Williams appeared on CNBC's "Closing Bell" on July 28 to promote the broadcast of his interview with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to be aired on the July 28 "NBC Nightly News." "Closing Bell" host Maria Bartiromo asked Williams if the media were treating Democratic presidential hopeful as a "darling." Williams dismissed the allegation.
"I think it is in the eye of the beholder," Williams said. "As I always say, there was that great New York clothier Sy Syms. We all grew up listening to those radio ads in the New York area and what did he used to say? ‘An educated consumer is our best customer.' The journalism needs to be judged on what we covered of that trip, how we covered it, what we said. It was a big story last week. The crowd I covered in Berlin was a big story, as was the visit to Paris and London and the Middle East before it."

Somebody better inform Brian that it’s actually the eyes of 67% of American “beholders.” That includes an awful lot of Democrats. Denial won’t help.

Just as a new poll showed most voters think the news media is biased in favor of Obama.
This past weekend the liberal Yahoo ran a similiar poll and about 70 % of responders said there was a definite bias towards Obama. About 5 % noted there was some bias to Obama.

Yes, but I’m not sure that’s not simply due to apathy-people more interested in “American Idol” and the like. The MSM is more blatant in their bias than ever before, even with their stock dropping.

When Williams first took over (not that Brokaw was much better) I heard him start off a headline story with some telling words....”As you all know” (classic emperor’s new clothes) “many people have said” (here comes our angle by whatever constitutes “many” 3? 4? 100?). The propaganda is amazing and most of the flock don't even recognize it. Out to pasture.

Hey Bri, if you were really trying to "educate" us (what an arrogant fool), you'd be asking Obama tough questions, perhaps about his past associates, from black muslim militants to the convicted felon, Rezko, to American communist "teachers" and terrorists. Why do you ignore those parts of the "education," Mr. Williams? Why do you attempt to pass off his relationship in Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years as something that should be of no concern? Why did none of you mention his 8 minutes of stuttering and stammering for vapid answers in a 40 minute presser in Israel? Why did you ignore the fact that there were Obama campaign signs at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem during his 12 minute visit? Would Obama have so tastelessly desecrated the Dome of the Rock with political signs? Why did you idiots try to blame John McCain for Obama's tactless refusal to visit injured American soldiers after he realized he wouldn't be able to use them in front of TV cameras? Why do you ignore that he essentially admitted that he'd rather lose a war if it meant winning the presidency? Why do you continue to allow him to lie about his "surge" mistake and denial of American military effectiveness? How is that educating anyone about your messiah, you twit?
