Robert Novak was admitted yesterday to a Boston hospital where he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. In a written statement given to his publisher, Novak said:

“On Sunday, July 27, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. I have been admitted to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where doctors will soon begin appropriate treatment.

“I will be suspending my journalistic work for an indefinite but, God willing, not too lengthy period.”

Prayers for Mr.Novak’s speedy recovery...not always in agreement with his view but he always seem to have a thoughtful and measured argument.

there was an article in the newspaper last week regarding the use of cell phones; from the director of a Pittsburgh Research Center with the American Cancer Center ... stating that there is unreleased documentation that indicates the connection between cell phones and brain cancer.

He released this info early because the study takes too much time to complete.. By then many will have cancers ... especially for the children ... use caution.

I realize how lacking in authority the above comments are.
The information is not at my ready access now. We can check it out for ourself.

It is a serious concern.

I hope he gets outs of Brigham Hospital in Boston and down to Duke University Medical Center just like Senator Edward Moore Kennedy. My late wife was an RN who trained at MGH and always told me that they would get Teddy the best medical care possible for his diseases unlike the rest of us. My wife died of Medullary Thyroid Cancer after having being denied entry to a government study that was used to clear up the disease for people from Chernobyl and by not given a drug from Spain made from Sea Urchins that had curred this always fatal disease in seven out of eight patients. While I was researching Ellen's courses of treatment I learned of a Dr. Gromeier at Duke who had cured a Chimpanzee (man's closest biological cousin in the hominid animal world) of brain cancer by injecting live Polio virus into the chimps brain. The polio virus devoured the cancereous cells and left the good one intact. The Chimp, Gromeier told me in his email, went on to fully recover and was living a wonderful life in a government protected preserve on an island off the North Carolina coast. My wife went through Holy Hell as she died from here disease. Kennedy is up and around after brain surgery at Duke and the use of a “Special Chemotheraphy” which I suspect is nothing more than Gromeier’s Polio Virus. I offer this information in the hopes that someone out there is in touch directly with the Prince of Darkness and makes him away of Gromeier’s cure. Gromeier back in 2001 that it would be a few years before Human Trials could begin. We'll its 2008 and I guess they've already begun on the swimmer....with great success. I suspect that Novak will be denied this care because he is a conservative Republican, and besides he doesn't control any appropriation for this crap. Bob look very deeply into this crap after you get out of the hospital. My name is Walter (718) 939-2540 call me if you wan’t to know more.

Cell Phone user?

I am sure the rads from cell phones are causing much of this. Had a friend, tumor right behind his mastoid on his phone side.

Don't use cells friends. They are not sheilded and would not work if they were.

Prayers for Mr.Novak - he's one heroic conservative. He stood up to the MSM when the norm was 5 liberals to one conservative - and often Mr. Novak was that one. He handled it with grace - and finally got out after one last outrageous insult on CNN. He's in my prayers.

Saying a pray is a good thing. But remember the sign that is in every Greek Dinner in Queens, NY. God Helps Those Who Help Themselves, so get off your knees and get to work!

Everyone here should contact President Bush, Vice President Cheney, Candidate McCain, and the head of the FDA, and demand that Bob Novak receive access to the experimental anti-cancer tumor drug developed from Polio Virus at Duke University and to the surgery that is part of that regiment.

Also tell them you’re sick and tired of having the FDA hold back cures for major life destroying disease processes while taking so much energy to determine if last month’s salmonella outbreak came from Tomotaoes or Halapinas!

The fact is that if wasn’t for Delores Duke’s tobacco money we wouldn’t have this cure today! Most large pharmaceutical companies would never develop a drug like this one because it can’t be synthesized from other elements, but occurs naturally so they can’t get a patent on the drug and price grouge the public for the cost of thee curre. Election year 2008 is the time where Americans should re-asssert control over their government and make it capable of bring about vacines developed from naturlly occuring items in the biosystem such as Polio virus, sea anamially posions, and plants such a Ginger, Graviola, and Pau-Paus (Michigan Bananas). This is the way that McCain can be a maverick in a good way.

Nixon made a pledge to cure cancer in “our” the “baby boomers” life time. Its about time that the GOP come through on at least one of its promisses!

Believe me, its been plenty hard raising Ellen’s babies during these past seven years. Walter Kowsh (718)939-2540.
God Bless Y’All.

Funny and not so funny, when you compare the posts on FR with those on the left wing sites. Many of us have not always agreed with Novak, but the posts are thoughtful and kind and wish his recovery. Counter that to what is posted on the left wing sites. They couldn’t be happier. Similar to their posts on Tony Snow.

I am one of the few also. ;-)

My husbands brother died in 1996 of a malignant brain tumor when he was 54. At that time I questioned the possibility of cell phones being a cause. To darned many people developing brain tumors.

Amazing isn’t it, cell phones? How old are Kennedy and Novak? Geez, when people start getting into their 70’s and beyond, they get cancers and heart problems and all sorts of things. Average life expectancy for males in America, what, about 75 or so? But join the cell phone hysteria everybody, and I’ll see all of you at the global warming conference next week...........

I think the online crowds are acting a little bit more human on the right & the left.

This place had some really disgusting comments on it when the swimmer had his fainting spell & cancer announced. That is just the nature of our politics and message boards. Uncaring jerks come in liberal and conservative flavors.

Maybe I’m biased, but the FRs here play fair. I’ve had my ears clipped a few times when I’ve made some uncolorful statements out of emotion.

I finally broke down and got a Tracphone to keep in the car for emergencies. I got a flat in the middle of absolutely nowhere this past winter--no lug wrench in sight. Two hour walk to the nearest farmhouse, snowing, temp in the teens, 20-30 mile an hour winds. Thank God my kids weren't with me.

I haven't used the phone yet. Just sits there, in case.

The doctor who issued the warning suggests using a hands-free earpiece when talking on a cell phone, so apparently he doesn’t think that will cause the problem. Many people are routinely using those now, and it seems like more are every day, so I don’t think this warning, even if confirmed to be well-founded, is going to make a dent in cell phone use. Possibly in the future cell phones won’t have the feature where you can listen/speak into them directly, but only have a wired or wireless hands-free for listening/speaking.
