A Rhode Island author claims in his book that Islamic violence against Jews and Christians has been part of the religion since its origins 1,200 years ago.
Andrew Bostrom, associate professor of medicine at Brown University, wrote in his book, The Legacy of Islamic Anti-Semitism: from Sacred Texts to Solemn History, that Muslim governments dating back 1,000 years forced Jews and Christians to show deference to Muslims and wear clothing that distinguished them from followers of the official state religion, IsraelNN.com reported Friday.
Bostrom claimed the Koran itself is anti-Semitic, with references to the prophet Mohammed's poisoning death at the hands of a Jewish conspiracy.
He wrote the post-World War II establishment of Israel in 1948 was an unbearable affront to the Islamic order and sparked calls from within the Muslim world for the destruction of the Jews.
Bostrom also claimed the growing Muslim population in Europe is part of a plan to assert Islamic superiority on the continent.
They still believe Spain is theirs, he wrote.
3, 2, 1, CAIR screams about stereotypes and lies on cue.
And I’ve read all that from several other sources, including a few before 9/11/2001, and many since. It all sounds like accurate history to me, so what’s the problem, ha, ha.
Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.’
I’ve read Bostom’s book. It merely confirms in horrific detail what we already know about Islam: that it is most certainly not a “religion of peace”. Mass murder, atrocity upon atrocity, slavery and impoverishment are written into its DNA. This has in fact been the uninterrupted hallmark of its entire history.
Islam cannot ‘reform itself’ - were it to do so it would no longer be Islam.
A perfect compliment to Bostom’s book is Lee Harris’ “The Suicide of Reason.” Harris explains why Islam has bee nso successful, and why the West appears to lack the ‘civilizational will’ to effectively oppose it.
Nah - Muslims are peaceful and have never done anything wrong to any other people.
This is just more propaganda being forwarded by the racist, sexist, homophobic machine trying to destroy everything that doesn’t look like or worship like them....
Careful, you’ll upset the sensibilities of some of the more liberal posters on this conservative board...
“Islam cannot reform itself - were it to do so it would no longer be Islam.”
Precisely.
For critical thinkers this is one of those "No sh_t?" moments.
I theorize that Islam was effective in waging war against the West because the rich men in the Islamic world bought up all the women, depriving hot blooded and horny young Arabs of even a single local female for possible wives and forcing them to rape and pillage to find women elsewhere. And, if anyone doubts how desperate a young male can be in search of a bride, one has to only ask, then, why all the concern about rising populations of males without the possibility of a wife in China or India?
Since when is actual citations of actual and well documented history a claim?
Every claim made in the article is true.
The Quran is anti-Semitic.
The Creation of Israel did upset the Muslim world (so much so that you might have noticed that they fought a couple wars over the issue and conflict is ongoing).
European Muslims do claim that when they reach numeric superiority they will institute Sharia law, and they do assert a “right” to Spain. In fact according to Islamic thought any land that ever was under the dominion of Islam will forever be theirs by right, as well as having the right to conquer the entire world militarily in order to enforce their religion.
Claims?!?!?!?!
The truth is not a claim. It is the truth.
Great truth about Islam.
