Former Vice President Al Gore recently took his climate-change show on the road for the benefit of liberal bloggers, Sunday morning TV aficionados and other innocent bystanders. This week he laid out his demand for a miraculous transformation in U.S. energy use over a mere 10 years. As for drilling for more oil? "Absurd," the Nobel Laureate scoffed. "When you're in a hole, stop digging."
The same might be said for Mr. Gore. For while his message hasn't changed, the political realities of the energy debate have. Suddenly, Mr. Gore's inconvenient speechifying only tightens the vise Democrats find themselves in over drilling.

He also STATED AS FACT that dems were not against drilling ANYWHERE.
PAH!
Prices at the pump have gone down somewhat, although not across the board, apparently. But I’m beginning to wonder if this is such a good thing short term. If prices do go down between now and the end of September, Democrats may feel the pressure is off come September 30th, and renew the legislation for another year.
Everyone is on edge. I don’t think a nickle drop is going to be enough to lull anyone or give the donks cover. They are quite nervy on the subject, so I could be wrong. Every storm from now until November is going to be hyped to the point that the markets are roiled. The same with every rachet of the international tensions. Eveyone who pays utility bills and shops for food sees that prices are not going down.
I think the pressure stays high. I also think the Ds would rather hide the renewal of the ban in an appropriation bill to give cover to their caucus and allow them to bash W, McCain and the GOP.
Common sense may be in short supply, but everyone knows how far their paycheck goes.
That's the only way they can do it. It can't be done publicly. But it's up to the GOP to call them on it. Will that happen? Stay tuned... :)

Ohh WOE is me... whys everybody pickin on me???
