The protests of civil liberties organizations about the Patriot Act, interrogation techniques, warrantless wiretaps, and other measures the government has used to prevent terrorist attacks, have been more of a philistine bray then a well-considered criticism. Civil liberties groups, both liberal and conservative, have invoked the specter of a police state. For example

Oh yeah and you'd know something about that? The Koran doesn't have civil liberties or democracy. Except maybe the right for infidels to die in the name of allah. I wander what the feds have on the Arab anti discrimination committee?
