Obama identifies as African American, and much has been made of the historic nature of his candidacy, which could make him the country's first black president. But he also frequently evokes his mixed heritage: his white mother from Kansas and his black father from Kenya. His presence on the national political stage is being embraced by multiracial Americans as an opportunity to focus attention on the growing population of multiracial people and deepen the debate about racial identity.

You probably don’t get outside the house very much and I’m sure you get most of your world view from television. Try to find a television broadcast showing people native to West Africa (Kenya or Nigeria will do).
Still following me... Now look at their skin tones and facial structures. See, this is an area (Africa) where a huge amount prospective slaves were captured. At this point don’t get ‘hot under the collar’ about who were the captors...that’s not the discussion here.
Still with me? OK. Now turn to another channel on your television. Try to find a station with American Blacks.
Again, your world view probably dictates to you that all blacks are ‘rappers’. Therefore, find one of these broadcasts (whole lot of American black people here). Now look at the skin tones and facial structures of these American blacks. Can you discern the differences between American and African black people? Is evolution responsible for these differences in appearance?

Race is no reason to pick a president. And certainly not Obama.
Halle Berry - Dad is black, mom (who raised her) is white.
Tiger Woods - Dad is black, mom is Asian.
Obama - Dad is black, mom is white. Raised by white grandparents.
Why do all of the above claim to be black? What makes the black genes override the others?

The weird thing is that most black Americans seem to like claiming anyone with a drop of subSaharan ancestry as "black", unless they have a last name like "Perez." Most Dominicans and Puerto Ricans are part black, yet American blacks seem to draw a line with said people.

But the fact remains that the Mooselimb blacks regarded themselves as an anointed elite, superior to other Africans, and they were often at the head of the slave-trade supply chain, rounding up their inferiors and trading them to European slavers for money and arms.
After all, the Mooselimb chiefs had much value to add to the slavery business. Do you think the conquistadores wanted to wade ashore and catch malaria or get a spear chucked between their armor plates?
