The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows Barack Obama attracting 44% of the vote while John McCain earns 42%. When "leaners" are included, its Obama 46% and McCain 46% (see recent daily results). McCain is viewed favorably by 56% of voters, Obama by 54%.
McCain is supported by 82% of Republicans and holds an eleven-point edge among unaffiliated voters. Obama is supported by 76% of Democrats.
Obama leads among voters under 30 while McCain has the edge among those over 65. The two candidates are even among voters aged 30-64 (see other recent demographic highlights). Thirty-four percent (34%) of voters are certain they will vote for Obama and not change their mind before November. Another 34% are that certain about voting for McCain. That leaves 32% open to changing their mind before voting and creates a potential for either candidate to open a significant lead in the fall.

If Obama fails to succeed, this will be the mantra for years. Stolen elections, voter fraud, and all of it will be manufactured in people’s heads on the left propagated by the MSM. You haven’t seen anything yet considering the last 8 or so years.

What a Republican landslide we could of seen, if only if we had a better choice ourselves.
I'll end up voting for McCain, but I will find it hard to campaign for him, or send him a check. Now give me a Bobby Jindal/Sara Pallin combo in 2012 and I'm ready to begin.

If Scotty's numbers are right, all McCain needs to do is solidify his base to win.
While there are many that won't ever come aboard (as witnessed here on FR), I have to believe there are enough of them that will hold their noses and pull the lever for the GOP to keep Bambi out of the Oval Office.

For those who don't know what a "Post Turtle" is:
A 70-year-old Texas Rancher got his hand caught in a gate while working cattle. He wrapped the hand in his bandana and drove his pickup to the doctor. While suturing the laceration, the doctor asked the old man about Barack Obama.
The old Texan said, "Well, ya know, Obama is a 'Post Turtle.'"
Not knowing what the old man meant, the doctor asked what a Post Turtle was.
The old man looked at him and drawled, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a Post Turtle."
The old man saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain:
"You know he didn't get there by himself, he doesn't belong there, he can't get anything done while he's up there, and you just want to help the poor dumb bastard get down."

Honestly, I think that may very well happen. It won’t stop the backlash, but it might dampen it. Frankly, it will be a long tough 4 years with McCain at the helm. Hope someone comes along and challenges in 2012. Obama might run again, or God forbid Hillary gets her facelift and runs again.

What do y’all think about him smashing fund raising barriers? I know he has a lot of grass roots fund raising but there have got to be some biggies like Soros in there.
To: BunnySlippers
From what I understand, I’m-not-a-muslim-Obama has received a considerable chunk of his funds from lots and lots and lots of little contributions traceable to a few Saudi Arabian credit card numbers.
