Obama and McCain at La Raza
Center for Immigration Studies ^ | July i5, '08

Posted on 07/16/2008 6:43:53 PM PDT by T.L.Sink

Obama Argues He's More Open-border Than McCain: "The 12 million people living in the shadows, communities taking immigration enforcement into their own hands...they're counting on us to stop the hateful rhetoric filling the airwaves. Yes, they broke the law and we should require them to learn English, pay a fine and go to the back of the line." CIS notes: These oft-repeated "penalties" are not serious. As for the fine, immigrant rights attorneys will cry discrimination and those aliens who don't pay it will never be deported. The English language requirement would be impossible to regulate and likely never enforced. The back-of-the-line penalty is most dishonest; unless the illegal alien is deported and required to wait in his homeland he will continue to live and work in the United States while other applicants (who are obeying the law by waiting in their homeland) truly REMAIN at the back of the line. McCAIN ARGUES HE'S MORE OPEN-border THAN OBAMA: "At a moment of great difficulty in my campaign I helped author with Sen. Kennedy comprehensive immigration reform. I did so not just because it was the right thing to do for Hispanics but for all Americans."

The contest is on! Who can out-pander whom and win the bulk of the Hispanic and ethnocentric lobbies? The polls now indicate that Obama is ahead. Surprising that in all his years in politics McCain hasn't learned one obvious lesson: No Republican, even a "maverick," can ever out-pander a liberal or play the victimization game better than a minority. Last night on Fox (former congressman) John Kasick was on a panel and emphatically stated that unless McCain changed his tune on illegal immigration that he would lose the election because he'll lose the base. Another panelist asked, "Then where will they go?" Kasick replied: "Nowhere; most will just stay home."

identity politics was his attempted goal

in a part of his speech to la raza:

hi! me one of you. we’re not white.

and, he thinks he’s going to bond with his brothers and sisters, the pakistani peoples (sic) the same way!

not.

So help me, I don’t understand this at all, ken21. Why would the GOP candidate willingly commit ‘political suicide’, and throw America under the bus?

Why did he do that un-freedom of speech thing, with Sen Feingold, and cut the legs out from under the 1st Amendment?

Why has he... I can’t remember and list all the things Sen McCain has done, to destroy this Nation and spit on the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitution?

My guys ‘on the line’, here, are adversely affected by what he’s done/not done, ken21. We’ll do what we did in 1996: hold our noses and vote for Bob Dole; John McCain, this November. Not that it will matter.

Do you think it will?

God help us: I hope so.

Yet, both Obama and McCain are supposedly so very worried about man made global warming to the point of setting U.S. policy based on this unproven theory.

If my husband and I were to sell our house and buy one half the size, sell our cars for two prius hybrids, and reduce our standard of living by half, it wouldn’t make up for the illegal who just crossed our border in the time it will take me to write this post.

The illegal who will buy some sort of car, probably live in a govt subsidized apartment as the head of household of children yet to be born, and will be a consumer of energy as well as produce waste. If either one of these clowns really believed in the global warming theory, they would be working to reduce the population growth of the industrialized world.

The whole country going to hybrid cars and doing every other green thing the enviro-wackos want us to do will only reduce carbon emissions if the percentage of people living a first world, industrialized standard of living remains constant.

I don’t even believe that reducing carbon emissions would change our climate, but those who do sure don’t seem too worried about the millions of third world people coming here to join us in being the world’s biggest polluters.

As far as that goes, why shouldn’t we be the world’s biggest polluters? We’re the world’s biggest producers of wealth. How much of the world’s wealth would disappear if the U.S. all of a sudden stopped moving in order to stop putting carbon emissions into the atmosphere?

Is McCain is trying to lose ?

I happened to hear the first few minutes of McCain's speech.

During that time all he did was tell the audience what a great guy Obama is, how wonderful it is that we have such a wonderful black man running for president, how pooly America has treated blacks in the past but, yada, yada, yada.....

I had to leave the room before I upchucked so I didn't hear the part where he bragged about his sleazy participation in the Kennedy/McCain Shamnesty bill (the one he said he learned his lesson about but now promisies to push through once he becomes King).

He still thumbs his nose at conservatives every chance he gets and brags about trying to screw America with the Shamnesty bill as if it was some brave feat of derring-do.

i think it’s the gop.

the thinking of the gop for decades had been to woo latinos into the big tent.

mexicans are family oriented, conservative culturally, etc.

but mccain may not have the appeal of george w bush. as governor of texas he had political alliances with mexicans.

one of his best friends when he was governor of texas he later appointed to be the u.s. ambassador to mexico—tony garza.

later garza married mexico’s richest female, a basque billionaire, maria aramburuzbala.

si.

Now, I understand. Or at least see the connection. I’ll never understand that kind of criminality and corruption. I could never be a politician, since I don’t agree with that stuff. Just working my job, is what I’m destined to do. Sometimes, I feel so isolated from what I’ve voted for, ken21.

Do you ever feel that your vote is worthless and what amounts to TP? Gosh, I tear-up at the thought of what we’ve lost in America. I re-read the US Constitution, and it’s NOTHING like what we’ve got, today!

Isn’t anyone watching the process? My guys, on the line, are, and we are about ready to ... no; I won’t say it. But you can guess, I’m sure.

Darnit. Darnit to hell!

reminds me of the holenzollerns, and other royal families of europe.

they married their daughters off to the sons of states that they coveted

or needed protection from

no wonder president bush hears a different tale from his ambassador than from the average american or mexican.

Good points. I posted an article on FR by a distiguished scientist who contended that IF there is global warming it certainly has NOT been scientifically verified that it’s caused by man. The reason Kyoto was a joke is that China and India with a combined population of over 2 billion wouldn’t participate and, frankly, they are so anxious to industrialize that they don’t give a damn about pollution. In regard to illegal immigrants and pollution, Lou Dobbs had a special program dealing with just that. The tons of garbage, trash and debris they trail across the border can almost be seen by satelite! Conservation is admirable but there’s no way that alone will meet our growing future demands for more energy. Global population naturally stabilizes with prosperity and people tend to procreate less. Look at Europe which is so much into negative population growth it’s facing extinction! It’s also a fact that the more scientifically and technologically advanced a nation is, the more environmentaaly “clean” it will be.

With all the conroversy over their birth certificates and drug use, why can’t we just start over?

Sounds reasonable to me!

Of course, if it really becomes an issue, I’m sure Congress will act quickly to save their bacon!

I think McCain has had a poorly managed campaign but, even more fatal, he’s ‘betwixt and between’ in his messages and has no strong appeal to either liberals, conservatives or independents. I think this will be an “against” election. That is, people will mostly be voting against one or the other, not FOR someone. The exception is blacks who will be for Obama - and would be no matter who ran against him.

Right. We’ve become everything America is NOT supposed to be - a balkanized society society with pandering politicians appealing to an array of racial, ethnocentric, and special interest groups and lobbies. All this, in the end, will destroy the highest ideals of the American founding and our culture.

Yes, but brain-washing them into being good socialists will only guarantee that after they're naturalized, they'll vote for whichever yahoo promises them the most freebies.
