"Black hole” brouhaha, continued: Official says “devil’s food cake” is racist, too!

Yesterday morning, I marveled at the p.c. idiocy of Dallas County (TX) commissioner John Wiley Price, who protested when his colleague Kenneth Mayfield used the term black hole to refer to lost paperwork.
The local Fox station in Dallas-Fort Worth has the video of the exchange.
The ignorance and sanctimony of John Wiley Price are something to behold.

Does a decent black man, who has raised his black daughter properly, want her to wear black on her wedding day? If his wife dies, does he want to wear white at her funeral?
If a white guy trying to climb the corporate ladder is "black-balled", is that racist?
Don't people have any sense any more?

It’s obvious that a black man in America can get and accomplish anything he wants. This race-baiting of whites is turning into nothing but reverse-oppression.

Does Jesse Jackson make sense? If a white man said what he said about Obama, the MSM would have a field day screaming about racism and how Da Man has it in for Obama. Black people can get away with saying racially condescending things because no one will hold them accountable for their behavior. J.J and John Wiley Price are quite a pair.

It gotten to the point, that some blacks, in order to get in the media, now need to invent racism. Its a disgrace to the founders of the civil rights movement. That's what they fought against their entire lives.

I'm afraid it's because we have collectively had it so good for so long, we get this idiocy descending into trivial nonsense. Too much time on our hands. If we don't have enough real problems, our minds conjure up "problems" to deal with.
And God says, "Don't worry, I'm watching, and I know how to separate the chaff from the wheat."
This is NOT going to be pretty.

Idiocy like this undermines the entire black movement.
While I try to treat all men as individuals, I know in my heart that blacks in positions of power, or professional positions, have a fair chance of being there through affirmative action, and not any real merit.
Essentially if I have had previous dealings with a black professional and have seen real accomplishment, I will keep on dealing with him. OTOH, I know that an unknown white professional is never going to be an affirmative action hire and feel he is likely to have stronger skills that an unknown black professional.
Everyone who thinks this is racist is entitled to that opinion, but when I am spending my hard-earned money on something, I maximize my chances for a good outcome.

John Wiley Price is well known by the media outlets as the "community activist" that led picket lines at any station that didnt have black anchors. When somone tried to drive through slowly he broke off thier windshield wipers. One time a man walk through it and Price, who is a blackbelt, broke his ankle with a kick.
No one touches him because he has played the raced card on everything his whole life. He's like Reverend Wright with a pony tail.

Everyone who thinks this is racist is entitled to that opinion, but when I am spending my hard-earned money on something, I maximize my chances for a good outcome. Not racist at all... Possibly prejudicial, but it may not be unfounded, depending on what you've experienced.
The word "racist" is thrown around far too much today, and most people who use the word simply don't know what it means, other than the effect it has when used.
Now if you were to say that black people were incapable of performing at the same level as white people, or of any other race, then THAT would be "racist."

I disagree with you somewhat on this. Yes, it is insanity to turn the term “black hole” into a racial issue. But the reason these things keep coming up is that the race baiters want to flaunt their power. It's their way of saying, “We can say whatever we want, but you have to bow to our demands before you will be permitted to speak.”
This is the driving force behind the recent noose hysteria. If nooses really terrified blacks as much as they claim, there wouldn't have been so many noose hoaxes. The black hoaxers would have been too frightened to handle the noose when planting it. What this is all about is power. It's the radical black way of telling us that we can't do anything that offends them, even innocently. We can't hang a noose among the vampires and witches on Halloween. We can't hang a noose among the pistols and saddles in an Old West themed restaurant. We have to be careful when designing an apparatus which hangs equipment to make sure it doesn't resemble a noose, lest a black person see it and feel offended.
Meanwhile, of course, they can wear their gang colors and rail against “whitey” and white privilege and basically speak and behave any way they want.
These demands won't stop if we laugh at them and say they're stupid. They'll only stop when someone stands up and says, “The term ‘black hole’ isn't racist and I'll use it anytime I damn well feel like using it.”
