“Eason decided to retire rather than pay tribute to Helms.”
At full pension, I’m sure. It takes a big man to stand on principle when it costs him nothing.
They fly the flag, too.
Real simple... Employee you don’t make the decisions. Therefore, you are fired.
He looks like a typical liberal full of hate for his own race. I wish they would demote him prior to his actual retirement and take away some of his pension.

“Regardless of any executive proclamation, I do not want the flags at the North Carolina Standards Laboratory flown at half staff to honor Jesse Helms any time this week,” Eason wrote just after midnight, according to e-mails released in response to a public records request.

Superficially it would appear that way if you didn’t know the facts.
Indentured servants during the 17th and 18th centuries were treated like the black and Indian slaves, and even housed with them. The mortality rate for indentured slaves was a bit more than 80%!! The odds of living until freedom was small.

There are no rules for them. Or, at least, that is how they think.
In almost 30 years of working for the North Carolina Department of Agriculture, L.F. Eason III apparently thought of his small Raleigh laboratory as his own domain. I designed and built that lab, Eason said. Even though technically the bricks and mortar belong to the state of North Carolina, I feel very strongly that everything that comes out of there is my responsibility.
