Being a trailblazer in any line of work can be overburdening.

Dr. Savage's "line of work" is confronting the foreign and (mostly) domestic enemies of the United States of America the only country in history (I believe) to have defined itself as Judeo-Christian and one of the few lands in the world that honors and respects the social contract, unalienable rights, and rule of law not men. Getting it back on track was another goal of Dr. Savage's. :)

Even patriots retire.

IMO he inspired perhaps the most valuable aspect of modern talk radio. To wit, "tell it like it is!" Stop showing servile deference to liberals/leftists screaming "Racist!" "Nazi!" Scream back at 'em. For decades conservatives protested the maliciousness as undeserving and attempted to 'splain and compromise. No more!

Dr. Savage could impart his priceless insight through his web site -- and yes I have almost from the beginning more than a decade ago believed that Savage was moved to do what he did as the result of Divine Providence.

It's not just the days off, maybe it's health issues -- I personally believe he deserves them but I prefer a fill-in host. But mostly it's the fact that Dr. Savage frequently talks about just calling it quits. Maybe it's time.

This thread has such a brilliant and informative dialog.

I was listening to Savage on my drive home this afternoon and
couldn't help but consider the words of Rush when he talks
about shows that mention his name, they do it because it
raises their ratings, and they want Rush to respond.
I had no idea Dr. Savage was so small minded that he
would step into the Liberal ring and shout.

Don’t get why everyone jumps on this guy (MadMax) who has some kind of a problem with Savage or what he is saying. I mean I know he starts out calling him a putz which is kind of stupid, but is there any kind of legitimate grievance beyond that? Ought to be a way to at least find out if there’s a legitimate issue and debate the issue without resorting to the same name-calling this guy was doing...weird kinds of stuff...
