Mexico City, Official Residence
The Presidency reported that President Felipe Calderón met Arizona Senator John McCain, who will be nominated as the US Republican Presidential Candidate in September, at the official Los Pinos residence today.
The President remarked that Mexico trusts the United States will value the priority given to bilateral work on migration, trade, development, regional competitiveness and security as the means for promoting the well-being of both societies. President Calderón confirmed his governments intention of continuing to collaborate on all issues of common interest, including the prevention of and response to natural disasters and pandemics, food security and environmental protection. The two exchanged points on view on key issues on the regional and global agenda. In this respect, President Calderón underlined the importance of maintaining a close relationship between Latin America and the United States.
For his part, Senator McCain highlighted the importance of the partnership between Mexico and the United States in promoting the prosperity and security of all North American communities. He declared that one of his priorities has always been to promote a closer relationship with Mexico. He also stressed the countrys long shared history and the importance of the enormous contributions Mexicans in the United States have made to the economic, cultural and social spheres.
Senator McCain acknowledged President Calderóns leadership since the beginning of his administration in the fight against organized crime and drug trafficking and expressed his support for US cooperation, including the Merida Initiative, in order to meet these challenges President Felipe Calderón added that regardless of who is elected, the next US president will have Mexicos cooperation for developing a more prosperous, competitive region, as well as strengthening democracy and human rights.
Senator McCain repeated his support for the bilateral trade relationship created by the US Free Trade Agreement and the efforts by both countries to deal with the security issues that affect the common border and promote the development and modernization of infrastructure in this area.
During the meeting, the President declared that the Mexican Government respects the decisions of the US people and its internal processes. He stated that he will pay close attention to the development of the electoral process in the United States as well as to the proposals and actions of each of the Presidential candidates in that country.
Lastly, the President of Mexico and Senator McCain discussed several aspects of the American regional agenda and global issues of mutual interest.
It’s the illuminati at work!!!
I can’t stand McCain. I am tired of his Mexico pandering.
He will ruin this country just like Obama will.
I have a close enough relationship with mexico... neighbors have chickens running in their yard, sheets and clothing hanging on the fences, jacked up cars in their yard, a run down motor home used as living...the guy knocking on my door selling home made tamales, another running around selling flats of “huevos”, a man pushing a pop sicle cart..another selling bed pillows strung on a long stick hung over their shoulders.. it never ends....
“During the meeting, the President (`Flip’ Calderon) declared that the Mexican Government respects the decisions of the US people and its internal processes.”
El presidente made a `Ja Ja’ (Ha Ha).
If we move enough US companies to Mexico, it will stop the illegal immigration.......to the US, anyway.
I wonder what in the hell this guy is thinking to make such a statement?
There is no prosperity to be had by aligning ourselves with Mexico...a failed state even after a number of revolutions.
There is certainly no security unless massive corruption in government is eliminated.
Why does he think most of his beloved illegal aliens are trying to get the hell out of there??!!!!
LOL!

"BORDERS?! WE DON' NEED NO STEEKIN' BORDERS!"
the guy knocking on my door selling home made tamales, another running around selling flats of huevos, a man pushing a pop sicle cart..another selling bed pillows strung on a long stick hung over their shoulders.. it never ends....
A couple of years ago our neighborhood was invaded by all this plus endless cards for tree trimming, house cleaning, etc. They don’t just leave the cards, they stick them in the door, ring the doorbell and walk off. I get to the door and they are walking down our driveway on the way to the next house. Peeves me off to no end. I have gotten to the point that when my doobell rings at least 5 times a day with these people I answer it screaming at them.
I am sure I am not the only one. You are right, I have had enough of Mexico and it’s citizens.
Yeah, people just living with what they got...never ends.
I may be hated on FR for this, but I’d much rather send my money to a capitalist mexico than to a communist china for like-quality goods.
I don’t disagree.
This is no-brainer politicking for the ignoranti: Mexico is one of our top three suppliers of oil.
McCain just can’t keep his yap shut!
Everytime the last idiotic thing he spouted blows over, he has to go and do it again!
Yet many goods coming from (through) Mexico are produced in China.
Money to Mexico is just encouraging more reliance on Communist China.
I second that!
Furthermore, Mexico (and having a stable, prosperous Mexico) actually is crucial to our security. Calderon is genuine trying to deal with the massive corruption and disorder, ranging from having certain cities run by drug terrorists to plain old financial hanky panky among the bureaucrats. He also has to deal with heavily left-wing unions and a small ultra-wealthy class that has gotten where it is thanks to the state and doesn't want things to change.
In addition, people from other parts of Latin America (ranging from economic refugees to Chavez' infiltration forces) are a real problem on Mexico's southern border. Mexico represents a buffer to us, and yesterday McCain discussed the importance of keeping Mexico's northern border tight, as well.
But of course the usual "hate Mexico" crowd doesn't want to hear that.
Another example of McCain talking nonsense. Mexico is an enemy nation. They are laughing at us for giving perks to the illegal aliens - riffraff or worse that Mexico wants to dump on us.
Don't worry, we are.
Some Globalist for sure. Note the unthinking slip-up over there when they came up with a GLOBE to represent the deal,

Some Globalist for sure. Note the unthinking slip-up over there when they came up with a GLOBE to represent the deal,

If we get McCain in 08 we will continue to destroy whats left of conservatism at the local, state and federal level. He will destroy everything that Reagan gained. If however we get Obama then we might actually have a chance to regain the house the senate and local majorities where real change can be enacted and independence from the federal govt can be established and fought.
ROFLMAO!!! Go ahead, send your dollars to "capitalist" Mexico. LOL!
I’d rather see us cut off the handouts and see what happens. Maybe Mexico’s citizens will finally give their government the Royal Treatment as they should have decades ago. As it stands, and as McCain would have it stand, we’re just enablers.
Juan, Juan, Juan - think about it, amigo!! Whose interest is served by this partnership? Boatloads of Mexicans have illegally entered the US to get jobs because Mexico has little to offer in trade to the rest of the world. So, the prosperity thing won't fly. And SECURITY??!! Are you freaking kidding me, Juan?? What security do you honestly expect the Mexican army to provide the US?? They can't even control the drug trade in their own sewer of a nation.
Juan, if I were you, I'd select "Get-A-Clue" for $600 as my next move.
“Yesterday McCain discussed the importance of keeping Mexico’s northern border tight, as well.”
Lookie here—livius made a `Ja Ja’ (Ha Ha) too!
Unfortunately, one of our most important ties to Mexico is to one of the Communist ventures, and it is not going well.
Crude output from Mexico’s Cantarell field plunging

Production at the Gulf of Mexico development dropped 34 percent in May from a year earlier
I would like to see a secured border, no amnesty and stop the handout to the illegals, one reason I originally supported Duncan Hunter.
But there is selective outrage
What about the Marxists, Code Pink lemmings & IslamOfascists who want us out of Iraq now just like Bobby Barr.
At the 2008 Libertarian National Convention, he apologized for the part of the Defense of Marriage Act which prevents the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages ( Barr supports same sex marriage)
On the Colbert Report on June 4, 2008, Barr confirmed that he now supports ending marijuana prohibition, as well as the War on Drugs
Here is a guy who holds so many far left views and and voting for him will get you more of the same leftwing views in Obama
Not really. It's the crackpots with lots of $ who think they can run your life a lot better than you can once their policies turn you into a serf.
Headline: “Link between US and Mexico Important for Promoting Prosperity and Security: McCain”
Your opinion McCain. ASK us, DON’T tell us. Make your case. Prove it. We’re reasonable people, and BTW we are your bosses as well.
The game of trying to cram your programs down our throats is like children wanting to do something they know their parents won’t allow them to do, so they lie and try to distract while they attempt to go on as they wish.
Thankfully most parents are aware of the childish games. Last year we proved it.
McCain actually did discuss this. He said that there needed to be two stages, that of securing the Mexico’s northern border as well as it secures its own southern border, followed by that of growing the free-market economy.
This sounds like stuff “W” would say, put up to it by Karl Rove and LULAC/La Raza.
