OTTAWA–Prime Minister Stephen Harper says global efforts to fight climate change are likely to go more smoothly once U.S. President George W. Bush leaves office early next year.

Referring to the U.S., he said, "I think, if you don't see a change this year, you're certainly going to see a change on that front next year."

The only reason efforts to combat Global Warming will go more “smoothly” after President Bush is because everybody will be rushing to give the US President instead of rushing to blame him for all the evil in the World. Everything else could be exactly the same, and the treatment of that President will be 180 degrees opposed.

They are making it all up as they go along, anyway. So what’s to stop them?

Thank God for President Bush, standing in the way of this nonsense.

McCain and Obama are waiting in the wings to enact a “cap and trade” system to address climate change [aka as global warming but the libs have stopped using the term because the earth has not warmed for a decade.]

But what the Democrats and McCain do not realise is, the economy will come to a grinding halt immediately after they pass this stupidity. Cap and Trade will instill the largest government bureaucracy since the IRS. Industry will run like the Republican Guard for the nearest country they can find.

The American public may actually wake up from their coma and start paying attention for a change. If that happens, all bets are off for the future of the Democrat party, or the RINO infested GOP.

Notice that Mr. Gore, after standing shoulder to shoulder with Mr. Obama....has disappeared.

Perhaps he's watching the horse turn the wheel to generate the electricity for his house??? Maybe he's riding one of those pedal cars that we had when I was a kid. Yeh, right....

Lets get that fence started on the north side so when the ice comes, and it will come, they cannot move to the warming side. Let them return to their global warming homes in the East.

Perhaps Jim Jones Al Gore can't transport his giant ego with gas prices being so high.

BTW - I didn't notice that Jim Jones Al Gore had disappeared until you mentioned it. No wonder the sky seemed brighter and the bird singing was more pleasant.

The fact that politicians (persons to whom a scientific education is an unatainable goal) are the loudest perpetrators of the latest chicken little paradigm should be ample proof of its silliness. There is a reason people go into politics. They simply are unable to do anything else.

“Man-made global warming”, full enactment of the Fairness Doctrine, and full enactment of amnesty for illegal immigrants, including legally allowing illegals to vote in all future U.S. elections, will truly end the existence of both U.S. capitalism and U.S. conservatism!

I would like to place some bets that on random dates in the future the high temperature will not exceed the average high of that same date during the past 10 years. does anybody know where i can get those bets covered?

So Mr. Harper you will shut down oil production from Canada’s oil sands in efforts to save the world from global warming?

Stephen Harper is a bullsh$$ artist that continues to stoke Canada’s victim mentality by blaming all the problems on the US....
FACT IS : Canadian greenhouse gas emissions rose 33% above the Kyoto commitment by the end of 2005...That was Bush's fault...EH?

Don’t attack Harper - what you don’t realize is that he is complementing Bush, and critical of Obama and McCain. He just stated the facts - things will change after Bush leaves w.r.t. climate. Harper is a hard-core fiscal conservative living in the land of the leftists.

Manmade global warming is a profit center for the left. Ask Algore or any of the university scientists raking in taxpayer supported grant money. The cap and trade system has the potential to be the largest redistribution of wealth in the history of man.

Climate change.

How about something more understandable.

Wind velocity change. We have to do something about wind velocity change. Look how much damage it has done is
and is likely to do in the future.

What? The average person knows nothing can be done to stop wind velocity change.

OK, How abour tidal water level change.

What? Those are short term changes and won’t work for justifying long term high-dollar programs where any kind of unprovable claim is allowed as “proof.”

Hey, how about the reversal of the Earth’s magnetic poles?

Like climate change, it has happened in the past and will happen again at some (unspecified) time in the future. We can claim all manner of horrible consequences and demand all sorts of programs to be instituted to combat it.

Maybe huge electro-magnets at the poles to prevent reversal. Trillions of dollars to build and it will use half of the world’s electrical output to power. No way to measure short term results or prove there will be long term results.

Even if Obama or McCain do nothing, they will still get credit from the Greenies. It is all about the politics. Since the entire problem is a sham, it doesn’t matter if the policies are counterproductive, does it?

One of the things Bush gets little credit for on this forum is that he protected us from the global warming activists for 8 years. We are going to miss that once he leaves office.
