TEHRAN (AFP) The head of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards has warned that any Israeli or US attack on its nuclear sites would mean the outbreak of war, the official IRNA news agency reported on Friday.
"Any action against Iran will be interpreted as the start of a war," General Mohammad Ali Jafari was quoted as saying late on Thursday. "Iran's response to any military action will make the aggressors regret their decision."
The United States has never ruled out an eventual resort to force against Iran over its contested nuclear programme, which the West fears is cover for a drive to build an atomic weapon.

Prelude to a self-attack to provoke war, allowing i-am-a-nut-job and the mullahs to retain power? They must have learned this trick from BJ Klinton during his Lewinski scandal.

So what?
Iran is actively at war with us in Iraq.
I’ve been at war with Iran since Nov. 1979.
It’s about time we get on with business—the mullahs have to go, or an American city will.
Let’s roll, Mr. President.

All the major (and minor ones, too!) power countries had better wake up and join the US and Israel - Iran wouldn’t try to stand up against a majority world opposition. If the right countries would join forces, we could literally break their economy and country without firing a shot. otherwise, it’s dicey - between their choking oil stronghold and the straits of hormuz, closing of which would have unreal world consequences.
