Boris Johnson urged people to walk away if they see a crime committed rather than risk their own lives.
The London mayor admitted he would tell his own children to "look after themselves" rather than play Good Samaritan to a victim.
"Everybody is shocked by the level of violence we are seeing, particularly towards young people, and we must all work as hard as we can to reverse this dreadful trend."

Let your citizens arm themselves, there’s a thought.
That is an unthinkable thought.
Report to re-education, Citizen.
So much for this guy being “Conservative.”
That island once grew a hardy people. I have to reread Henry V to remind myself...
When learning of the insanity of things in Brittan I get a vision of 'THX-1138'... people reduced to cattle, lives completely regulated down to the biochemical level.
“we must all work as hard as we can to reverse this dreadful trend”

Except the good samaritan part
Run away! Run away!
Fascinating. This is the study of a zombie nation giving itself up to radical fascism.
Apparently Boris thinks the best way to work towards reducing violence is to ignore it.
Ride to the sound of the gunnns.
Pathetic.

"and he bravely ran away he did..."
So this great leader would be ok with others ignoring an attack on HIS children? What a father he is!
That was Dianne Sawyer’s implied suggestion to the Texas who shot two home invaders on his neighbors property who were approaching.
something on the order of “couldn’t you go inside?”
She lives in a guarded skyrise. Doubt she’s ever encountered theives outside her door with their arms holding her neighbors’ possessions eying her as a potential live witness.
Boris is a conservative in the same sense that Michael Bloomberg is a conservative.
Acting like a coward will only encourage the criminals to commit more violence. Criminals fear being shot and beaten over the head with a baseball bat just like everybody else. Sometimes you have to use violence or the threat of violence to stop a criminal from attacking.
I don’t know but I think I like mine better.
When danger reared its ugly head he bravely turned tail and fled.
Food for the Morlocks.
Ah, yes, the ostrich approach.
In this day and age, when every human who is no longer actively nursing at mama’s breast is yapping into a cell phone, shouldn’t he at least be urging them to SUMMON HELP IMMEDIATELY?
Seems like a pretty safe action to me...
The Morlocks’ main source of food is the Eloi, another race descended from humans that lives above ground. The Morlocks treat the Eloi as cattle, and the Eloi do not resist being captured.
Scene from the original Time Machine movie.
Wow, the Brits have been added to the European Union of the New Castrotti...just pathetic..
Are British males neutered at birth?
The cutie in the yellow outfit is Yvette Mimeaux. Sort of a 1960’s version of Carla Bruni.
That’s not Yvette, that’s an extra. Yvette’s floating in the river in the direction of where they’re gawking.
Yeah, you're right. I realized my mistake when I watched that part again on YouTube.
He’s got a point, though. Right now in the UK, if you try to help someone being assailed, you are likely to wind up in prison with a LONGER sentence than the assailants.
Nice, huh?
If you see trouble and can do so, beat the crud out of it and report them to the police.
The “Eloi” from “The Time Machine.”
By running away? What a cowardly idiot.
Boris Vliet Johnson
isn’t that Haley mills?
Britain is dying.
*shudders*
From my own perspective and of course I cannot say this is what Boris was saying or thinking.
If I saw an attack take place I would try to get assistance to the victim in the way of the emergency services but it can sometimes be fool hardy to give physical assistance you are no good to help someone if you either badly injured or dead.
Though what I would add in most cases of crime of the nature that Boris is talking about why were you there in the first place.
Often it takes places in areas and places where I and my friends and family would not be in the first place. Most people in my experience of crime apart from when you are attacked in your own home are either with people or in areas that they should not have been and would have been advisable to avoid. Maybe this is partly what Boris was thinking about in his advice to his children.
The average person was different in those days and less likely to knife and rob you maybe the situation we all faced as a nationa then made a difference or is it just what western society has become.
Would you advocate your son or daughter to intervene in some gangland incident in New York or Chicargo I think not and that is what Boris is saying about his own children.
Yes report the crime but do not endanger yourself or end up being a suspect in the crime.
> Would you advocate your son or daughter to intervene in some gangland incident in New York or Chicargo I think not and that is what Boris is saying about his own children.
I would be proud if my son or daughter intervened and prevented a crime from happening to an innocent party. That is what being a good Citizen is all about.
That is what I teach them to do.
> Yes report the crime but do not endanger yourself or end up being a suspect in the crime.
There are many worse things in life than getting hurt. It is perfectly normal and (used to be) expected to endanger yourself to help others.
If enough of us endangered ourselves, the Bad Guys would have a very hard time indeed. Our Society has degenerated and weakened itself precisely because people are no longer willing to Get Involved.
I say “Bollix” to that notion! Get involved! Get stuck in. Interfere. Go in Harm’s Way and maybe get hurt if you have to: at least you can sleep at night with a clean conscience.
> The London mayor admitted he would tell his own children to “look after themselves” rather than play Good Samaritan to a victim.
Don’t worry, Mr Mayor, there are still decent and brave Londoners who will protect you and your kids if you ever become victimized.
> Are British males neutered at birth?
Not this one...
Planet of the Apes..?
I am a primary care giver for my father IMHO it would be wrong to endanger my life or put myself in harms way. Yes report the crime as I said before.
Maybe I have been over protected and this shapes my thinking but primarily I believe you should not go to places and get involved with things and people that could put in you danger because of the nature of the area or property you are visiting.
Many people are involved in crimes because they are where they should not be or with people that it is not healthy to be with.
You say that you would be proud if your son or daughter prevented a crime happening to an innocent party my argument is that in most cases the person attacked is often not innocent and should not have been there in the first place. Having said that as a human being I do not want anyone hurt or maimed and therefore would get involved in as much as reporting the crime and even making a formal report knowing fully well that could put me in danger for reporting the crime. As a female 5:2 and just over 100 pounds and a care giver to an elderly father I would consider is foolhardy to physically intervene in the event which could lead to others being hurt trying to protect me.
I would sleep better knowing I had done what I consider the responsible thing that than get seriously injured and my father having to go into care which I know he would probably not survive and I would have to live with that. Each person has different circumstances to consider and we should consider this before we make judgement upon what level of involvement they should have in an incident.
WHAT a COWARD. He sounds like the Mayor of Chicago, or of DC! (the District of Criminals)

There’s conservatives and then there’s eunuch conservatives.
Boris and Michael Bloomberg are eunuchs.
