Mile-high Obama? Invesco Field may be venue
Denver Post ^ | Jul 3 | Denver Post

Barack Obama's campaign is considering moving his nomination acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention from the Pepsi Center convention hall to Invesco Field at Mile High to accommodate the uncredentialed masses, sources say.

The move would mark a major departure from tradition, but would be in keeping with the candidate's desire to build a large grass-roots campaign focused on "change."

It also would leave behind the multi-million-dollar broadcast studios, media offices and high-tech podium and stage to be constructed at the Pepsi Center.

I think he should address the nation from the summit of Pike’s Peak and hand down some golden tablets with “Obama’s Commandments”

Or if 14,000 feet at night is bit chilly, even in the summer, there are plenty of hilltops in CO where he could speak and show us that he is truly the Obamessiah.

The Rats are already scrounging for $ for the Convention. They’d have to come up with a lot more to do the stadium propaganda piece. But Soros could chip in, I guess.

This is supposed to be the greenest, most environmentally friendly convention ever. How environmentally smart is it to have set things up at the Pepsi Center, and then have to duplicate the effort at Invesco?

Yep, I agree, just send him to Pike’s Peak and let him hand down his wisdom to us huddled masses.

I think the International Space Station would be a great venue — while standing outside in only the traditional blue suit.

And when people become THIS freaking STUPID and inattentive to their freedoms, THIS is the candidate they deserve.

It's a short walk from the Pepsi Center to Invesco Field at Mile High. The South Platte river is between them. Obama won't need a bridge to cross the river, he can walk upon the water.

mile high barf alert

However, there may be probs with mile high
the Broncos owner and coach are both well known republicans, and I’m sure they have priority as preseason will be well underway.

I’m not sure what would have to be done to render the place safe for human habitation afterward if the dems big event is held at the stadium.

does the city own the stadium? I think Invesco just owns the naming rights and paid for the name. Anybody know for sure?

The Nazi parallels are obvious to anyone who knows their history and is paying attention to the Obama message and methods. Unfortunately that is not the majority of Americans. I’d have to say the move to the Invesco would be brilliant. His populist spiel about politics being for the people and not just the $10,000 a plate types is beautiful. AGGGHHH Why can’t the GOP learn to pull strings of the populace. It’s not rocket sceimnce we do it all the time when we sell things. Reagan got it. Gingrich got it. Perot got it. McCain...

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Amen! I may have known someone with so much unwarranted confidence before but I never have known such a one to rise so high so fast. Seldom has one so small fooled so many and promised so much and believed he could do so many wonders with such a little speck of brains and ability. Carter apparently was at least able to grow peanuts and drive nails, I doubt that Obama has the brains to do either one and lest anyone doubt it let me say I speak in all seriousness, I am NOT joking! I don’t believe he is running on his own, I think he is totally somebody’s puppet and without the puppetmaster I don’t think he could survive on his own out in the cold cruel world. I believe Warren G. Harding was a super genius compared to this clown.

The convention is 6-9 weeks off, been in planning for years, and scrounging for money, reducing many events (including volunteer party) and he’s going to make a major last minute change like this? Even considering a change like that says tons about his judgment.

I can’t decide what’s sadder:

The fact that not only could Obama fill the stadium he could charge admission and still do it, or the fact that our candidate couldn’t fill the stadium if they paid people to attend.

Even better...The Pepsi Center is owned by Stan Kroenke. Stan Kroenke is married to Walmart heir, Ann Walton. Stan spend years building new Walmarts all over the US. Wonder how many of the moonbats who will attend the convention know that the money they spend is flowing right into the pockets of Walmart heirs.
