Yesterday, Barack Obamas camp released a statement trying to slam John McCains current trip to South America. It read: Senator McCains trip to Mexico and Colombia just underscores his insistence on continuing George Bushs failed economic policies that have left nearly 2.5 million more workers unemployed, including unfair trade deals that have been written by lobbyists.
Well, the crusty old warhorse may be gaining on Mr. International in the global community, after all. Contrary to what Obama wants you to believe, McCain got a healthy burst of support from Colombias President Alvaro Uribe yesterday. Uribe, whos made admirable progress on the issue of human rights in Colombia, said he wants John McCain to be the next president of the United States. No real surprise here, as Obamas free trade-aversion would merely punish Columbia in the name of new Democratic isolationism. At a news conference in Cartagena, McCain said, I would like to see a hemispheric free trade agreement. I would like to see our continued assistance to countries like Colombia.

Obama criticizes McCain’s presence in Colombia when he should be there himself, offering support, assuring Uribe and Colombians in general that they can count on us whoever wins in November.
But, of course, Colombians can’t count on us if Obama wins in November. A vote for Obama is a vote for FARC and Chavez. That is sad to say, but true. Democrats oppose war against muslim fascism, they oppose war against FARC, they will do nothing to defend the West against islamoterror or narcoterror or terror of any kind. Not unless they are dragged kicking and screaming will they defend America and the West, and even then they will look for any excuse to sell us out and print our operational secrets on page one of your local newspaper.
That, I suspect, is because Obama is incapable of making a serious analysis of policy issues. He's neither a thinker nor a doer. He's a teleprompterist. He would have been great on infomercials.
