Family Of Subway Robbery Suspect Says Customer Shouldn't Have Pulled Trigger POSTED: 10:30 am EDT June 29, 2007
PLANTATION, Fla. -- The family of one of the men who was shot by a retired United States Marine while they attempted to rob a Subway sandwich shop said the customer shouldn't have pulled the trigger.
According to Plantation police, two armed men barged into the Subway at 1949 Pine Island Road shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday, demanding money...
Oh, those poor armed robbers!
Dear Family,
Blame your son for his own death.
Yeah, no kidding. If we don’t do something now about their lousy, unsafe working conditions they’ll prolly form a union, and maybe they’ll go on strike! On second thought...
“The family of one of the men who was shot by a retired United States Marine while they attempted to rob a Subway sandwich shop said the customer shouldn’t have pulled the trigger.”
I don’t understand. How was he supposed to shoot the robbers without pullling the trigger?
;^)
Sorry, but if someone shoots you dead while you’re attempting a violent felony, that’s tough on you.
But don't worry, Rose, your grandson will recuperate from his wounds and live to prey on decent people again some day.
Great family you raised, you degenerate old bag.
Sorry, but...
BWAAAAAAAAAAA. Another stuck-on-stupid!
Important lesson taught and learned — DON’T MESS WITH MARINES!
The article never says whether the robbers were armed.
You would assume so, but then why didn’t they fire?
You can see how the perps ended up the way they did when you read the statements of the family.
I take that back. The article did say they were armed.
NEVER MIND!!!
Second line, two ARMED men barged in...
The gentleman did not attempt to shoot these criminals until they turned their attention to him.
If they just would have taken the money from the cashier and left they would probably still be alive.
Instead, they tried to force an armed citizen into the bathroom, for what reason who knows, and he shot them.
This is the fault of the criminals, not the armed citizen.
“When they tried to force John Lovell into the bathroom, he pulled out a gun and shot both men, police said.”
They attacked a man who was minding his own business. Said man shot them down. Too bad, so sad.
And the “family” of the dead perp, that inter-generational gang of nit-wits, can go F-— themselves if they don’t like it.
What was he supposed to do? Throw it at them?..............
Why is the media interviewing this stupid woman? Who cares what she has to say?
The only question I would ask her is “How was it possible for you to be such a failure at rasing this degenerate?”
"The two young men should not have tried to take another person's hard-earned money into their own hands," said yooling, a freeper.
Perhaps they shouldn’t have tried to rob a Subway. Oh that’s right, they’re the victims and this “vigilante” clearly was the one in the wrong. I mean, Bush’s economy drove these two misunderstood youths to rob. /sarc
Seriously why do liberals always call into questin the judgment of the heroes, but never the villians?
LOL.
PS - the family of the LIVE perp can ALSO go F- themselves if they dont like it.
It does say they were armed according to the Plantation police.
What about the Texas case where the guy shot the two burglars that had come out of his neighbors house?
Is there anyway that that is justified?
The guy says that one of them was charging him, but that makes no sense if someone has a shotgun trained on you from what I assume is a fair distance so that you don’t have a chance of taking the gun.
They were armed, other articles confirmed that, they didn’t fire because the Marine shot first. Most criminals are cowards and when confronted with an armed citizen shooting first they usually flee. The point is this: Armed or not if you attempt to commit a felony and get shot, you brought it on yourself. This guy acted in accordance with the law and the basic right of every human being to protect themselves from harm. Don’t want to get shot? Don’t try to rob, beat, harass, rape, pillage or otherwise harm your fellow man.
Well, if that's what the man said, I agree with him. Dad taught me to squeeze the trigger, rather than pull it. Get better groupings that way.
I'd bet that this Marine's DI said more or less the same thing, albeit more forcefully.
According to Plantation police, two armed men barged into the Subway at 1949 Pine Island Road shortly after 11 p.m. Wednesday, demanding money from the employee behind the counter. When they tried to force John Lovell into the bathroom, he pulled out a gun and shot both men, police said.
I don't think it was talking about the limbs that hold the hands.
90% of the people in Ft. Lauderdale would vote to give this guy a medal. Amazing that it’s always the MSM which moans and wails for the poor, unfortunate thug!
The family will soon demand payments for loss of “income” (a lifetime’s worth of theft and drug dealing), plus pain and suffering. I missed the earlier media reports of this one - did they describe the “victim” as an honor student, father of three, just trying to be a good baby-daddy? Has anyone decried concealed-carry as “racist” yet in THIS episode? Has the word “instamatootional” showed up yet?
Don't bring half a brain to a gunfight...
Apparently the misguided criminal was not aware that Marines spend A LOT of time practicing sending rounds downrange. On zeroed sights. At bad guys.
Actually, you're uninformed on that one too. They were 10-15 feet away and moved towards him but not directly at him because their car was parked in that direction ... a mistake they won't be making again.
Get over it ..
Perhaps if the family had taught some real values to the kid like responsibility, pride, determination, right and wrong he’d be alive today instead of lying dead, another life wasted out of recklessness and selfishness.
Yes.
The question is: since Arrindell died during the commission of Gadson's felony, why isn't Gadson headed towards old sparky or the needle for felony murder?
You make an excellent point. Although it IS the perps grandmother who claims he “pulled” the trigger, as opposed to SQUEEZING it.
I think another interview with the gentleman is in order so this matter can be cleared up. I would hate to see his firearms handling skills called into question without giving him a chance to defend himself.
;^)
Is there anyway that that is justified?
The guy says that one of them was charging him, but that makes no sense if someone has a shotgun trained on you from what I assume is a fair distance so that you dont have a chance of taking the gun.
Of course it was justified. If you don't think so you don't belong on this forum you need to be a on bleeding hearts liberal forum such as DU. Oh, wait, even many of them believe in the right of self protection and protection of others. These felons were shot committing a crime, they refused to halt when told to do so by an armed citizen. This is legal, shooting them was legal and apparently the law thinks so too because just two days ago he was exonerated.
Once again I say this: If you don't want to get shot by an armed citizen, don't commit crimes. See, isn't that an easy road to travel?
If you want to live somewhere that people aren't allowed to protect themselves I suggest moving to Cuba, that is probably the closest communist country to the USA and they have very strict laws concerning law abiding citizens being armed and defending themselves, they aren't allowed to do either. Living in Cuba you would never have to hear about a citizen defending himself and others, it just doesn't happen. What does happen is lots of crime against these same defenseless citizens, just as you would have it here.
Due to the fact that this country has the second amendment we will continue to defend ourselves against criminals. Isn't it nice that the SCOTUS confirmed our right as individuals to keep and bear arms?
That’s how the left thinks. Blame the good guys and forgive the bad guys.
It does sound like the Marine gave them the ability to retreat even after the robbery. As you stated, he was left with no options because who wants to determine the intent of a ‘thug’ during the commission of an armed assault. BTW, where is the dead thug’s mother?
Semper Fi...
Yep. When victims are moved to a back room, in this case a bathroom, the next thing that usually happens in an execution.
Maybe the deceased shouldn't have tried to rob the Subway.
“If you don’t want to get shot by an armed citizen, don’t commit crimes.”
There is power in your words of life...
Watch the scum bag's relatives get a lawyer (er. . . shyster) and make this hero's life miserable with a civil suit.
The marine is 71 years old. The two perps tried to shove him into a bathroom, which constitutes kidnapping. The pic of the felon shot dead in the head tells it all: hateful, sullen, recalcitrant.
I thought Massachusetts was the closest communist country to the U.S.
I guess it depends on where you are in the U.S.
