What a story! We are in rural central Missouri, and meth is definitely a problem.

He told them he didn’t need a warrant because he worked for the federal government...
I’m surprised his little charade lasted as long as it did. Must have been a lot of morons involved on both sides of the law.

As many civil rights were violated in this story and as bad as the crime, you can’t help but pull for this guy. Absolutely nothing changes in town for years—things maybe get worse—and then a vigilante shows up....

Somebody had a large "empty" Sudafed box at the ready. No doubt something's going on eh?!
Wonder how they're fixed for matches.

“When the call was placed, a woman whose identity is unknown answered with the words multijurisdictional task force, and said that the citys request for federal services was under review, the mayor said. Mr. Schulte said he now suspects that Mr. Jakob adapted the nonexistent task force name from the Beverly Hills Cop movies starring Eddie Murphy.”
Priceless.

The cops make a meth bust every week around here. Its an epidemic.
To: Renfield
They said the agent, a man some had come to know as Sergeant Bill, boasted that he did not need search warrants to enter their homes because he worked for the federal government. Could you pass the latest citizenship test?

Yes, it is an epidemic. An apartment building in Stover went up in flames because there was a meth lab in it that caught fire or blew up. The whole building went.

Well, I thought our area of the country was the Meth Cooking Capital...we’d hear of mobile “homes” blowing up in remote areas (and sometimes not so remote...). Law Enforcement/Police Chief friend tells us stories of these labs showing up and blowing up...
