But the ramifications are so profound that it deserves to be reported - if only to smoke out whether or not it is true. A respected journalist, Laura Rozen, is reporting at a not very respected journalistic site, Mother Jones, that an Iranian American academic is quoting from an Iranian news site that the government of Iran will suspend uranium enrichment activities for a perioid of six weeks in exchange for:

If I were them, I would suspend enrichment and get all kinds of stuff from the west, wait until November to see who becomes President. If McCain becomes president. we’re back to square one. If Obama wins, start making bombs. The Dems will do nothing.

If there even is such an offer, I assume it’s either pure stall tactics or else maybe they have some technical reason for taking a pause, such as fixing a problem with the centrifuges, installing more centrifuges, etc.
I very much doubt that anything short of massive bombing can truly pause the Mullahs in their quest for nukes.

They are just trying to kill time until Bush is gone.

Hit them fast and hard on a moonless night.
EMP to take out all electronics.
Cut all net access, phone access, take out the satellites that provide tv.
Take out all major bridges, airports, water, power, sewage, heavy industry.
Cut all major highways apart, all rail lines.
Utterly destroy all military bases.
Take out the underground nuclear sites...even if that means nuclear bunker busters.
Destroy their pitiful navy.
Allow no Iranian air traffic of any kind.
Blockade all land and sea routes...take out anything trying to cross into or out of Iran.
Then give them a year under this pressure to think about what sort of society they want to rebuild from the ashes.
BS, this is either disinformation from the left in an attempt to thwart Israel’s impending attack, or it’s Iran playing games in an attempt to thwart Israel’s impending attack. Someone’s making stuff up, or someone’s playing games, but if anyone actually believes Iran is stopping uranium enrichment they need to put down the crack pipe...
If this is true and it is from “mother jones” ;), I agree that something’s broke and needs fixin’.
Why would Mother Jones publish something that is true, as in- it is a fact, it actually happened. That would be uncharacteristic.
