In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former vice presidents home energy use surged more than 10 percent, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.
A mans commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home, said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.
In the past year, Gores home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.
In February 2007, "An Inconvenient Truth," a film based on a climate change speech developed by Gore, won an Academy Award for best documentary feature. The next day, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research uncovered that Gores Nashville home guzzled 20 times more electricity than the average American household.
After the Tennessee Center for Policy Research exposed Gores massive home energy use, the former Vice President scurried to make his home more energy-efficient. Despite adding solar panels, installing a geothermal system, replacing existing light bulbs with more efficient models, and overhauling the homes windows and ductwork, Gore now consumes more electricity than before the green overhaul.
Since taking steps to make his home more environmentally-friendly last June, Gore devours an average of 17,768 kWh per month 1,638 kWh more energy per month than before the renovations at a cost of $16,533. By comparison, the average American household consumes 11,040 kWh in an entire year, according to the Energy Information Administration.
In the wake of becoming the most well-known global warming alarmist, Gore won an Oscar, a Grammy and the Nobel Peace Prize.

I bet even Tipper hangs Al’s boxers on a clothes line......
Gore, the Kennedys, Sting, Springsteen, Hollywood “Save the Planet” types . . . phonies all.
It’s not only the home that’s guzzling something.....a few cheeseburgers here a dip basket full of fries there, a bucket full of milkshakes there, and to top it off a few lines off the glass coffee table.....
He needs to give all his stuff to the poor and live in a tree.
Bingo. And when he's all done, people will all say, "Thank you, Al Gore, you're super awesome." Exthelthior!
First he has the nads to pretend he invented the internet, now he has all his lefty buddies believing he is a greenie. I guess we’ll find gore wherever there is a buck to be had won’t we. What a hypocritical joke this idiot is!!
Sniff, sniff...
I can believe in the hypocrisy of Algore, but this is rather hard to believe.

Al Gore wants YOU to live like the Flinstones while HE lives like the Jetsons.
This guy is a total fraud and the issue of global warming is also a fraud. We need no more proof than to observe Gore's behavior. If he really believed what he spouts, he'd be cutting consumption. He's not and has no intention of doing so. Gore is a liar.
Yep, Al has packed on the pounds, hasn’t he?
But none of this matters, because:
1. Al Gore is the Pope of the Church of Global Warming, so he’s entitled to his comforts.
2. He buys carbon credits based on his power use at his house, so that he can claim to be carbon neutral.
That would mean using energy to wash them. Maybe he just donates them (unwashed) like his former boss.
It's for you own good. I know all...
It's for your own good. I know all...
A hallmark trait of a liberal - they expect everyone else to carry the water and do the heavy lifting while they offer nothing but excuses.

Some animals are MORE equal.....
Takes a lot to cool down that fat ass.
I can’t do it but, if you have seen the national debt clock with spinning numbers, it would be cool if someone could put up a Al Gore electric meter. It would be fun to watch the wheels go round and round. Superfast.
Exactly. I have a large tree and an extension cord. I would rent the treehouse for $800.00 a month.
That would just about cover my gas purchases for the month.
LOL! I don't there's been any better, more succinctly stated description of Algore's hypocrisy than that.
That should say “I don’t THINK there’s been...”
There I go, typing too fast again. :(
Please .. don’t confuse democraps with facts. They hate that and become violent. Only they have the right to free speech!
I’m still boggling on how the hell one person (OK, one family) can burn through 213,000 kwh of juice in a year. Even if he does live in a mansion. It just doesn’t compute.
I wonder is his son still growing weed with those high intensity lights in the basement? I bet the whole bunch is high as a kite.
What would be an amusing effort...if we could make this happen...is to start a carbon-effort in Tennessee where voters demand that the state electrical guys start limiting the amount of power you can buy. We naturally make this very reasonable....like taking the average family usage and multiple by three. And we even offer a waiver for certain situations where consumption is necessary (chicken farm, pig farm, etc). Then we cut off your consumption at that point.
Al’s house would go dark after the fifth day of each month...based on his current level of consumption. I would also imagine that at least 200 other folks in Tennessee would be dark by the end of the month.
We might just make a valid point by being carbon-dedicated on this issue....and force Al to leave the state (which he’d have to do). And at the same time...we’d have the public awareness of the vast amount of electricity that some folks (less than one percent of the population are consuming). I would take a guess that across the entire US....there are 40,000 “Al’s” walking around....consuming fifteen to forty times the amount of power of a average family....of which most are environmental pretenders. We’ve probably got at least two power plants in America....online....just to feed these 40,000 “Al’s” their power requirements.
