King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia, whose nation is the world's number one oil exporter, called on consumer countries to get used to high prices in comments published on Tuesday.

"Consumer countries have to adapt to the prices and the mechanisms of the market," the king said in an interview published by the Kuwaiti daily Al-Siyassah.

I expect actions like those out of the enemies of our country. On the other hand I'm a little disappointed that the Saudis are going along with them.

The silver lining is that we will begin the road and end up being energy independent... and out from under the thumbs of the oil producers.

We’ll get it figured out with our own coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear, and reduced consumption. We’ve never really needed to - but w/ prices continuing unbounded - we need to now... but some stupid assclown pols haven’t gotten the message yet.

We can't. The way out is through the manufacturing industry. I won't bother to go over the benefits of space industrialization and development. Coal to liquid and shale to oil are manufacturing processes, hugh investment, many years, but once done will be good for decades. Then I would suggest space development and continued research into nuclear fusion. Keep your debit card handy.

I think we can get used to it, and if the pinheads who govern us will let the law of supply and demand reign, we will find it economically feasible to supply most of our own needs in due time. I think the calls for more mass transit and for people to give up their reliance on automobiles is fairly stupid. Americans are not the kind of people who herd well. More fuel efficient cars will follow a market demand for them, electric ones, also, and who can say what else. But automobiles of some sort are necessary to our psyches. People who call us cowboys are essentially right. We are a people who expect and intend to be able to mount up and ride out anytime, anywhere. The automobile just happens to be the way we express something that is fundamental to the American spirit. The stupid politicians who think we are not going to be the way we like to be are headed for a showdown at the OK corral, and they are not the ones who are going to be Wyatt Earp. It may take a little time, but these bozos like Pelosi, Reid, and others are just like all the little frontier town bosses we have had to bowl over on our roads and trails to national greatness.

Come off of it. Who doesn't have to buy gas? Unless of course you are lucky enough to be able to work from home, live within walking distance of your job, or have reliable public transportation (in which case you would still need gas indirectly) to get you to and from work, EVERYONE is forced to buy gas. And when you have to fill your tank 2-3 times a week to get to and from work, it sure as hell does feel like rape.

Solid idea. The breadbaskets of the world can easily form an FPEC with a terrific pricing structure for those fellows that have sand as their alternative.

And behind that should be a quiet cessation of attending movies. Hollywood hates us, but uses more resources per person than 10 ordinary citizens. Why not gently squeeze them back into reality?

What about if you have a diesel car like a ford F250 or a volkswagon and you buy or make your own biodiesel? Isn’t that cheaper than gasoline now?

Biodiesel is actually very simple to make. It is made by chemically altering the molecular structure of any organic oil( like vegetable oil) through the use of a chemical catalyst and an alcohol.

To do this, oil is simply heated to a designated temperature (to help with the chemical reaction) and then a mixture of catalyst and an alcohol are added to the oil. The oil, catalyst, and alcohol mixture are then mixed for a period of time and then allowed to settle.

rape

noun, verb, raped, rap·ing.

–noun

1. the unlawful compelling of a woman through physical force or duress to have sexual intercourse.

2. any act of sexual intercourse that is forced upon a person.

3. statutory rape.

4. an act of plunder, violent seizure, or abuse; despoliation; violation: the rape of the countryside.

5. Archaic. the act of seizing and carrying off by force. Looks like a good description to me.

OPEC (Muslims and Chavez) are gouging the world. “OPEC will clear $1.5 trillion in net export profits this year. Why aren’t the Democrats/Marxists and liberal media pointing this out? At this rate OPEC will buy the whole of the U.S. in a few years and we Americans will all be starving.
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2039275/posts

We Americans should all buy diesels like the Ford F250, f350, VW, etc. and then make our own biodiesel for 80 cents per gallon. Here is proof it can be done. Then we can tell the Muslims and Hugo Chavez to eat sand.

http://www.backwoodshome.com/articles2/yago101.html

“My Ford F-250 diesel crew-cab pickup did not cause me to become interested in making my own bio-diesel fuel. No, the final straw was when I filled up its 48-gallon fuel tank at a cost of $150 that made me decide to find out what this bio-diesel commotion was all about!

Regardless of who the early promoters were, making your own fuel to power diesel trucks, farm tractors, and back-up generators is a perfect fit for anyone living off-grid or on a farm. Not only is diesel fuel easy to make, but it requires very little equipment to get started. Like all hobbies that can turn into an obsession, it is certainly possible to refine the process with more expensive equipment later, so I will start with the basics”

It isn’t his fault. He is as always, our friend an ally.

Nancy Palosi et all are your true enemies.

Your wages will rise as a part of the general inflation in process.

For the record, have you calculated exactly how much your cost of living has increased as a result of Gas price increases alone?

Have you calculated the savings over the past few years that accrued from buying very inexpensive imported goods?

That savings will go a very long ways to offset the gas price increases.

This king is no particular friend. King Fahd was a friend of the US. My cost of living has jumped almost 30 percent due to the price of gas alone. I drive 80 miles a day commuting to work. Last months fuel bill almost $600. I had to cut back on use of my full size pickup and buy an american car that gets double the mileage of it. So factor in the price of a new car also. In aerospace your wages don’t automatically go up with the pace of inflation. As far as buying imported goods goes, I don’t buy that many when I can avoid it.

The king better be careful...the forces of economics may just crush his one export nation when the high cost of Middle-Eastern oil makes all the other alternatives, and the investments they require, that much more appealing.

In 10 years he might have a hard time giving his oil away.

Get off of your high horse because your complete and total ignorance is astounding.

First of all, NOT having capitalism in the oil/gas industry is what is causing this problem, so save the slogans for someone else. Secondly, it is not at all possible, in a technologically advanced nation such as ours, to go through life without having to pay for gas in one form or another - if this needs to be explained to you I apologize and have pity on you. Third, someone stating a FACT that you happen to not like is not whining - throwing insults around because of it on the other hand is.
