Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has told his cabinet that two soldiers captured by the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah are dead, officials say. His comments came as ministers debated whether to go ahead with a prisoner swap with Hezbollah. Mr Olmert is reportedly backing the deal.
Critics oppose swapping prisoners for the bodies of dead Israeli troops.

And how did they die exactly?
As much as the families no doubt want the bodies back, there should be no deal. This sets a terrible precedent.
Who is pushing for this stupidity?
Even in Death Israel cares more for life and its citizens. The holy and sacred duty is to return the bodies home to their family for proper burial.

True. It is hard to understand how a once-free country would make
vermin, like Olmert, their Prime Minister during war for their very survival.
Make the swap anyway, but before handing the terrorists over spike their food with a slow acting poison. Let them all die in the company of their Hezbollah butt-buddies. Allah-fubar!
I don't understand Israel's rationale for releasing several Lebanese soldiers for 2 dead Israeli soldiers. The num bers aren't even and more importantly the alive/dead thing has even more signifigance.
Olmert is Israel’s Carter. How long can they put-up with this man?

Where is the OUTRAGE over MURDERED PRISONERS?
Have we come to expect that Islamists can not be held to the same stanadards as the “civilized world”?
Isn’t that the bigotry of lower expectations?
We put panties on the heads of prisoners, or photograph them nude in demeaning situations - or touch their Koran with “unclean” hands and the pinheads and sheetheads go insane..
Islamists murder their prisoners, and the world is silent...
Perhaps we should adopt the “accepted” practice of executing all of our prisoners after the “appropriate” questioning....
