Obama’s New Strategy
Cross Action News ^ | 6-26-08 | Dick Morris

Posted on 06/26/2008 6:17:33 AM PDT by Victory111

Have you noticed a change in Barack Obama’s campaign? Instead of avoiding controversies over values, religion and race, he seems to welcome them and wade into the debates with an increasing enthusiasm.

Characterizing how the Republicans will attack him, he predicted that they would criticize his “funny name” and add “and by the way, did you notice that he’s black?”

Conservatives have definitely not been controlling the playing field. They need to attack him on his policies.

I agree with this:

“But the more the debate covers such fundamental questions, the more it ignores the details — details which could bring Obama down.

Quite simply, Obama would rather address his religious views and his optimism about America and his embrace of diversity than talk about his plans to raise taxes, let gasoline prices soar and socialize healthcare.”

...not to mention giving up some of our sovereignty to support the UN poverty goals (which include more than simply poverty).

“...did you notice that he’s black?””

Pre-emptive playing of the race card.

What a novel idea from such a brilliant candidate.

Besides, by any measure this thoroughly unaccomplished, racist charlatan is more white than black.

Obama doesn’t need a strategy. He will not be questioned in the media no matter what he says or does.

He really doesn’t even need campaign money.

Publically, Obama is heading to the center. He has come out to say he hates the SCOTUS decision on the death penalty for child rapists and he is now saying he does not like the Fairness Doctrine.

Smart and safe stance for Obama. He knows the liberals on the court made the decision and he also knows he can now safely take that stance, even though he could have spoken out about this prior to the decision.

Now, he also knows the RAT led Congress wants to go after reinstating the Fairness Doctrine. He can woo voters by being against something he later can say he wasn’t for it, but there is nothing he can do about it.

Sad thing is McCain, as usual, is late to the microphone. HE should be the one speaking out, but he never does.

Wahat an awful candidacy the GOP is running. Just inept is all that can be said.

McCain gave a good talk on energy the other day. The Lame stream doesn't cover McCain or covers him marginally out of “fairness”. Of course the main stream won't do an analysis on Obama’s ever shifting positions, two sidedness (NAFTA and Canada),etc. McCain is so far ahead of Obama on energy Obama couldn't catch up with NASCAR’s help.

It’s right out of the classic demo playbook. Run to the left to get the nomination, run back to the center in the general. And be safe knowing two things: 1. The media will cover for you, and 2) the American electorate is too stupid to notice the switch.

No way this guy is remotely qualified to be President, but we are probably going to wind up with him. He’ll move Carter out of first place as worst president of all time.

Exactly — much of this tripe is designed SPECIFICALLY to keep the focus off of his DISASTEROUS policies and plans for America. A giant RED HERRING is being used to keep all focus off of the real issues about this madman Marxist. McCain had better get with it and KEEP the focus on the plans of this charlatan liberal.

Obama had previously said he was for nuclear expansion but then yesterday he criticized McCain for proposing 145 additional nuclear reactors.
Obama is an empty-suit who can't even come up with a logical policy on anything.

Responding intelligently, as Morris has in this article, is a bit much to expect from the hideously inept McCain Campaign.

Anyone seen any sign of a 72 Hour Plan from these guys, yet? Republican Voter Registration Drives?

See, if they had anybody of Rove's caliber running that show, we'd be in clover. As it is, we're fighting for Oxygen.

Morris is dead-on. McCain needs to take these specific issues to the country and force Obama to defend his left wing politics. Then let the nation choose.

It's his only hope.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

I can’t stand all this silly crap about playing nice.

IT THE POINT OF AN ELECTORAL PROCESS TO BATTLE!!!!!

Don’t say this, don’t say that, and don’t mention this theme........ “I’m offended”.... “I’m shocked someone would say this/that/or the other”........

The purpose of the entire **Process** is that we the people are supposed to learn about those who want to lead us. This is a job interview with the people. The point is that ideas/positions are supposed to be scrutinized, the candidates past behavior is relevant and is supposed to be analyzed, dirt the candidate wants kept in the closet is supposed to be aired, the candidate is supposed to fight and defend his ideas and himself. Is the candidate healthy; mentally agile and quick; can he speak well, how does he hold up under pressure, and can he operate on his feet and not only operate in a canned environment where others tell him what to say? Our talk of nice political campaigns has gutted the purpose of them! They were NEVER nice, even 150 years ago.

These are people who are volunteers. They are asking for us, the voters to vote for them. These people will have power over our lives and make decisions of life and death. Their lives are public a matter of public record. This is what they want and asked for, and I’m tired of this gay media that talks about nice this and unfair that, and “can’t we all get along crap.” No, we can’t get along, that’s the point, one will loose, one will win, and this isn’t supposed to be some “synergistic, win-win, understanding, loving, caring, compassionate, love fest.”

All this talk of mean spirited attacks, swift boating, xenophobia, racism............. what that boils down too is limiting the topics and venues and it completely side steps the intent! Obama is playing the victim card already and is trying to define all themes and topics unbeneficial to him as off limits in a political sense, and McCain is a damn wimp for not calling him out on it and attacking him.

I, the voter, the guy on the interview panel want to know those things that I will ONLY discover when the media does it’s work and when these candidates do fight. It’s not the media’s job to be “nice” to Obama and not report his drug use, or avoid discussion of McCains age……… It’s what I came to see, it’s what will help me decide who I vote for. Bring on the fight!

***I came to see gladiators fight in the political arena. ***

Message to Obama: Stop playing the victim card
Message to McCain: Stop being a wimp

You're right, McCain won't take him on. So far McCain has only done little hit-and-run attacks but then lets Obama have the last word.

McCain has the issues that could pound Obama but as long as he fails to use these issues in his favor Obama will get the last laugh.

For once I want some Republican, preferably Conservative Republican, to call out their foes for the liars they are.

Even Obama admits off-shore drilling would lower the prices but objects to it because it's “5 years” down the road to see these savings.

McCain needs to pound him on it and tell the American people that Obama doesn't want people saving at the pump or else the timing of the savings would not be of issue.

If Obama responds then McCain can counter it by showing the American people where Obama said he was for the increase in cost but just not as rapidly.

Shucks, I know what is black! B. O. HUSSEIN is no more than light brown, that aint no Black to me!
Isn’t B.O. HUSSEIN 50% White (his mother) and 43.5% Arab, leaving only 6.5% Black, thus not considered Black under Federal Guidelines.
By Muslim Law, the child of a Muslim father is MUSLIM! Therefore, B.O.HUSSEIN IS MUSLIM! He claims he is not, but he has never disavowed his Muslim heritage and remains a MUSLIM in the eyes of Muslims Worldwide. DONT LET B.O. HUSSEIN LIE!

I agree with what you say about the media, but face it, McCain is slow. He does not act like he wants it. There is just something wrong with him and that is his downfall.

This campaign is not about wanting McCain as President, it is about not wanting Obama. That means little voter energy and lots of apathy. He stirs no one. Well, maybe a few RINOs.

Not a winning strategy.

Each evening I watch Brit Hume. Each evening I see that whatever Hussein has said in the form of an attack on McCain or a contrary policy of what McCain’s advocates, McCain responds. The people here who are claiming he says nothing are more then likely watching the network news casts or CNN or MSNBC.

There is no way he can force them to carry what he says.

Wel Mccain should have taken his plan out of the Dem playbook. He should have ran right and grabbed his base...I guess that means Republicans...with him maybe it really was indys...who knows. Anyway he should have grabbed his base and then centered some.

Instead, he is a maverick doofus. He has done all he can to spit in the eye of his base and continues to run left.

I bet that old man had to be dragged kicking and screaming to support offshore drilling. He was obviously too pigheaded to ad ANWAR into the mix. Of course not, that might have made his base believe him.

Heh , sorry a little tiny rant for you! LOL

Don’t be sorry about the rant, you’re preaching to the choir!

McCain drives me nuts! Every time Obama hands him an issue on a silver platter, McCain throws it away. He’s running as “Obama lite” which is exactly how the GOP lost power.

So, we need the artist that does Obama’s “HOPE” poster to do one for McCain that says “IDIOT.”

I described the democrat primary as a pennant race between two flawed teams in a weak division, and I wasn’t a fan of either team. I’m not sure how to describe this race. Maybe it’s a world series between two teams, one of which I detest, and the other I usually follow, but the current team has a star player who is a head case and the manager is an idiot who consistently makes the wrong moves and is blowing an opportunity for a sweep.
