The Chicago press mostly overlooked Obama’s worst scandals, instead griping about the trivial.
Chicago papers, radio, and television haven’t been hagiographic in their coverage of local-rising-star-turned-Democratic-nominee Barack Obama. They dug deep into Obama’s real-estate dealings with developer/felon Tony Rezko, and provided gavel-to-gavel coverage of Rezko’s trial.
But if one were to assemble a list of the revelations that have most damaged Obama’s efforts to win the presidency, two at or near the top would be the video of Obama’s pastor, Jeremiah Wright; and Obama’s long, working relationship with William Ayers, a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago and founder of the radical Weathermen domestic terror group, which planted bombs in public buildings.
Somehow those scandals — involving high-profile Chicago figures — were broken by national news organizations like ABC News and the Politico. In fact, when Obama’s connection to Ayers received real scrutiny from the national press, local columnists offered “so what?” reactions, insisting the relationship was “no big deal.” The Chicago Tribune’s editorial board insisted that Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn (his wife and fellow former Weatherman) “have done good work in Chicago.”
Former Tribune reporter David Mendell offers an interesting overview of Obama’s career-long relationship with the press in Obama: From Promise To Power. There are prickly moments, occasional stories that aren’t flattering to the senator, and (once in a great while) mountainous controversies made out of molehill-level misdeeds on Obama’s part. But for the most part the Chicago media were charmed by Obama’s considerable charisma, and acted more like Obama Girl than like Woodward and Bernstein.

If Obama somehow got the idea that a candidate’s comments have an expiration date, it would explain a great deal of his behavior on the campaign trail.

I am still convinced that Obama’s birth record is incomplete. Why don’t we know what hospital he was born in? why aren’t there any baby pictures from the nursery? Wy does his grandmother in Kenya say he was born there? His birth certificate has the serial number blacked out. Why?
I’m sorry to keep drilling this point, but has anyone pursued this? The only account of his being born in Hawaii is from his book.
There has to be a well-financed organization created to get the truth out about sinister, corrupt politicians including the Messiah and his racist, antisemitic wife. It’s obvious the media is out to destroy America in conjunction with Congressional Liberals/RINO’s. If America is to survive this Marxist/Soros onslaught, Americans, that love their country and those that want to preserve freedom for their children and grandchildren, have to expose the truth. I tend to think he was born in Hawaii. Surely the media- and they aren’t ALL Obama-friendly..would have dug that up by now.

Simple. Appeal to their greed. As you know the MSM, particularly print media, is bleeding to death. Just convince some editor-in-chief that this story on the Messiah could very well be their redeemer.
Start our own press and take out ads or put the truth up on billboards all over America.
If someone asked you to PROVE that you were born in the USA, there would be paper flying. Birth Certificate (an original), Hospital records, eye witnesses, photographs, etc etc etc. The are rumors flying around on this, and the only thiing we get is something from Daily Kos. The whole thing is fishy. Everyone is accepting that BC as genuine.
What hospital was he born in. Having the birth records of that hospital would end this debate. Can someone in the MSM please ask him to tell us, what hospital he was born in?

He’s probably delusional and is obviously totally dysfunctional, but I remember, about 10 years ago, when an accuser came out of the woodwork to accuse Fr. Bruce Ritter (Covenant House) of having liaisons with certain boys he had supposedly rescued, the attorneys immediately claimed that the accuser was a male prostitute, a drug user, a former mental patient, etc., etc.
All of these things were true - but it didn’t matter when the accuser pulled out the secret tape recording he had made of Bruce Ritter. Cardinal O’Connor, who had taken Bruce Ritter’s word that he was innocent, had to go out and publicly apologize.
In other words, the guy may be a flake - but he may also be telling the truth.

I agree with you. But why doesn’t our side just investigate and be done with it..the longer he’s out there making these claims, with no backup, the worse he looks. How freaking hard would it be to find those cell phone records? They are less than 10 years ago. Why wouldn’t you think the cell phone companies still have them.
I remember reading with disbelieving eyes the Trib editorial where they regarded criticism of Obama over his terrorist friends as unwarranted. As if Bin-Laden was caught, tried, and found innocent by U.S. courts (it could now happen), he could find absolution by doing community work. Just mind-blowing, stunningly stupid conclusions. Also, there are a few in our government offices her in Chicago, (I live here) that make arrangements with out of state liaisons for sexual pleasures. I have a friend who is a limo driver in Chicago and he has a list of suitable partners who would be interested, most are in the escort business. The Local Officials find it safer to go with out of towner's because they think it a bit safer than going around with a known local. Something to ponder? Perhaps! Good questions all. We’ve been told that Obama visited Pakistan in his youth. Does he have an American passport acquired with a valid birth certificate?
Investigators (I believe for “The Daily Mail” or some other Brit Pub) say there is no evidence of any marriage certificate in Hawaii. The good news would be that Papa Obama was not commiting bigamy (having already a wife in Kenya)since he and Stanley Ann Dunham apparently just shacked up. In any case, this haughty “elitist” surely has a checkered background.
And listen, folks: rumor, gossip, and innuendo need not apply (that means you, Larry Johnson). There is plenty of real and tangible proof of what this guy is all about. Just read his plan. It would entail a truly radical expansion of the power and scope of the Federal government, the minimum first year cost of which would be $300 billion (by my accounting).

ALSO: Kapiolani Hospital did not open until 1989 although the Hospital for women and children was open at the time. This discrepancy in my mind is interesting as there is a descrepancy.
2. Did his mother and father attend school in Hawaii during the summer of 1961 or did they go to Kenya as it is rumored?
3. There is absolutely NO mention of when and where his parents were married. No date, nothing. Obama admits in his biography that he didn’t look this up. There is also no mention of when they were legally divorced if they were at all, since Obama, Sr was presumably married at the time to someone else.
COMMENTS: Again, we are talking about the presidency of the United States here. The birth history and ancestry of the person taking this office should be crystal clear. In fact, it is NOT crystal clear and IT IS BASED ENTIRELY FROM THIS MAN’S AUTOBIOGRAPHY.
The points I raise should be easy to look up. How can one look up the marriage records of the parents?

We must never forget the Messiah’s stated intention of dismantling the American military and his vow to discontinue research into newer weaponry. Our awesome military and our advanced weaponry are the only thing keeping our enemies away from our front door. My birth certificate is a microfitch copy of the original. It has my parent’s names on it and when and where I was born. The time also. His BC is a simple replica of the generic facts.
Why should there be a discrepancy regarding the hospital where this man was born? Wikipedia is reputable is it not? Why would they list a hospital that wasn’t even open yet in 1961. Did someone assume this because it is close to the college campus where his mother attended school?
Was she attending school when she was pregnant? When did she graduate? When did Obama’s father graduate? Why is there a rumor that the grandmother in Kenya has said he was born there? Another way to dispel the rumor would be by researching the passport data on the mother and where she traveled during that time.
AGAIN, I WOULD EXPECT THE SAME SCRUTINY OF THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE AS WELL.
A SIMPLE RELEASE OF THE HOSPITAL BIRTH RECORDS FROM THE HOSPITAL HE WAS BORN WOULD LAY ALL THIS TO REST ALONG WITH A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE.
I’m not even challenging the claim that Obama was born IN Hawaii. However he has not produced a birth certificate, just a document with some birth details. There is also word that a birth certificate was filed with Kenya AS WELL which would lead to claims of “dual citizenship”.

I am challenging the Hawaiian birth until I can see an original BC. How can Wikipedia list the man being born at Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii (that did not open until 1989)and another Obama friendly site lists him being born at Queens Medical Center? This is discrepancy enough to ask that the detailed hospital records of this candidate be provided for the public to see.

I have been trying for months to get Carol Marin at the Chicago Sun Times to start investigating Obama. I thought she might, because she was a bit critical of him in a forum one time.
