This is fully in accord with Mark Steyns precise observation that so-called hate speech laws are not about facts, but rather, theyre about feelings. Yet facts are really all that should concern us; the rocks Mahmoud Alkhazeh threw at the driver he confronted did not hurt more because they were accompanied by stinging words. Hate speech laws are an assault on truth telling, at precisely the moment when so few dare to tell the truth, and it is for that reason all the more urgently needed.

Hate speech laws are anti-freedom.
Libs have twisted freedom to mean freedom from harm.
Freedom means being free to do and believe what you choose as long as you don’t compromise the liberty of others.
In a free land, you are free to hate, and free to be stupid. Neither is a good choice, but it is a choice.
That is how the socialist left will finally defeat free speech, by calling it “hate speech”. They’re already defining talk radio as hate speech because they don’t control it, and anything they don’t control isn’t free, it’s hate.
when i was in college in the seventies i noticed that my
liberal-socialist roommates and friends were really thrown into an
emotional blender over the fact that they came from upper middle class homes
and minorities did not.
they wanted approval from especially blacks. but most blacks withheld their approval of rich whites.
they did not have the same embarrassed feelings about being better off than poorer whites—me and others.
we were military veterans on the g.i. bill and they disparaged us.
But as long as they are on the books, prosecute the non-whites, non-Christians, non-males, and non-liberals on an equal basis with the intended targets.
Good observation, but I think it's more accurate to say "freedom from consequence".
Undeniable truth of liberalism #1:
Liberalism at its core is the use of force to make the responsible and innocent pay for the consequences of the decisions of the irresponsible.
How bout allowing free speech again? Speech that disagrees with others is not hate speech and free speech means speech that is unpopular with others. The stifling of free speech was hatched in the PC movement with the help of academic institutions.
Those laws were created to silence anyone who denies politically correct dogma. They were created as a sneaky way of invalidating the First Amendment.
Hate crimes = “All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others”
