I was going to put on the gas mask and pull the lever for McCain this November but events of the past few days have led me not to vote for him.
1: McCain speaking at the racist, reconquista La Raza conference. 2: McCain still opposed to drilling in ANWR and comparing it to drilling in the Grand Canyon despite $4 + and climbing gas prices. Accoring to NRO Corner when asked about this he seemed peeved someone would have the audacity to ask him that question. 3: McCain giving veto power to coastal states on offshore drilling. The US owns these waters not the states. 4: McCain seemingly on board supporting windfall profits taxes and making a fascist statement that the government has the right to tell oil companies how they should invest in their money.
To be totally honest I live in CA where Obama is going to crush McCain but this will be the first time I do not vote for the GOP candidate for POTUS.
Now things get interesting.
What if Obama is ineligible because he is afoul of the natural born citizen requirement? Seems his mom was underage when his non-American dad got to her. He won’t release his birth certificate to dispel this rumor.
Its a choice between the candidate favored by muslims around the world and the other candidate hated by our sworn enemy.
If I’m not mistaken Congress passed a law giving veto power to the states on offshore drilling, if they met certain requirements.
Not that that’s a good thing, but I’m just saying as President, McCain couldn’t change it at the stroke of a pen even if he wanted to.
He was never going to vote for McCain. Don’t don’t fooled...
Exactly. I will be voting against Obama and that means not staying home to protest or voting for the idiot Barr. No Obama.
Yeah, My girlfriend was a McCain supporter but is now considering a write in vote. He isn’t going to win in Michigan either so I’m voting my conscience.
CA Ditto. I am ex Navy, and voted GOP every election since 1980. This will be my first year not voting for GOP. A McCain victory in Nov will utterly destroy the Conservative base and the GOP.
McCain certainly wasn’t my first choice in the primary... or second.. or even third.
But he’s still better than Obomoron.
And I think he will put decent Justice on the Supreme Court. And he won’t rush to pull us our of Iraq.
I live in the People Republic of Maryland too. But I’ll still vote for McCain because he IS better than the alternative.
Staying at home and not voting is ridiculous.
Millions of people on this planet can only DREAM of voting in an Election. Given the chance they would never consider staying home and not voting.
Well dang. If you feel that way, I guess we all should.
McCain sux but he sux less than Obama.
Heck. I guess we should all give up.
A vote for McCain will destroy the GOP.
But a vote for Obama will destroy the USA.
If your finger is bleeding, do you cut off your arm?
So do you vote for someone who is Socialist liberal and you agree with nothing he is about?
Do you vote for someone who you agree with about 60% of the time?
Do you vote for someone who will appoint liberal judges?
Do you vote for someone who will appoint conservative judges?
Do you vote for someone who will gut the Military?
Do you vote for someone who will support and build our Military?
Do you stay home and let the other side win?
Don’t tell me just because you don’t agree with some of his views you vote for Obama! That is just plain stupid, or your just a liberal trying to sway peoples opinion!
I guess you missed where Hussein Obama said his only problem with gas priices is they went up too fast. Hussein Obama thinks we should be paying these prices for gas. He has no problem with it.
First I've heard of it. Coastal oil was a big issue fifty years ago. Eisenhower backed the states and carried Texas and Louisiana.
In reference to whether I am an Obama troll let me share some of my personal history:
1: I attended a conference at Columbia Univ in 1984 while in HS and I was the only person on campus with a Reagan/Bush button.
2: I did some phone bank volunteer work for Bush in 1988.
3: Never voted D in my life.
4: Been a long time lurker and now poster on this site and other right wing sites like Lucianne.com
5: Never voted for a bond issue, tax increase or other liberal crap when such issues have come up for a vote in CA.
I think the gas prices and McCain’s total ignorance on this issue, he seems more in league with Pelosi than the GOP, have broke my back. Perhaps when Nov comes around I will have a change of feeling.
Do anyone know where I can purchase a
F**K Obama and a F**K McCain bumper sticker?
I want to put them both on my car.
Voting for the lessor of 2 evils is still voting for evil.
If we need to go thru 2 years of liberal hell to get a decent congress, so be it.
YES Obama will honk up things so bad that will happen and it will occur quicker than Clintons 1st term.
Let me ad I drove from Sacramento to Ventura County near LA so I can watch in person the motorcade carrying President Reagan to his final resting place. I wore a suit to show my respect for the great man and I got a big thrill seeing Lady Thatcher looking out from her limo.
AMEN! For the life of me I cannot understand people who will just hand over the presidency to Obama as a matter of standing on some sort of “principle”. J.M. may not be who we really wanted, but, good heavens, he’s certainly better than that dangerous alternative.
Now that there, is down right funny. Just last year if a person liked McCain, he was deemed a troll.
Makes you wonder, nothing changed, did it?
I agree whole-heartedly. McCain is awful. Obama is from the pit of hell: Socialist, racist, anti-American.
I’ll take McCain any day.
And there's no doubt that there's Big Tent McCainiac's slithering through the Freep pushing that Socialist in hopes of a coffee mug.
“When November rolls around, ask yourself who the troops in Iraq would want you to vote for. If you can’t vote for yourself, at least vote for them.”
What an absolutely superb thought. (Which means I’m going to steal it.)
Your a swell person. By the way, I’ve been registered since 01/01/1999 and have not felt driven to post a vanity. Therefore, I’ve had to spend 0 time defending myself.
Amen, why let anything like principle get in the way of a socialist win win situation. Yea rah!
Like the new tagline?
Curious cripplecreek, what are your views on winning the War in Iraq?
And just how am I supposed to face them when they come home and put their civilian clothes back on, knowing that I'd aided and abetted putting a Socialist RINO in office that'll knife them in the back?
We’re winning.....despite facing weapons sold to our enemies by our good friends in China. Too bad McCain doesn’t have it in him to speak up about that.
Point well taken.
But the difference, I think, is like comparing Tony Blair with Leon Trotsky.

I think McCain should habve been the one to call Iraq and tell the soldier that her son had been murdered by an illegal alien. Then he could have gone into his sales pitch about how much we need these immigrants to do jobs Americans are too lazy to do.
McCain’s addled mind doesn’t even know who we’re winning against in Iraq. He’s riding on Bush’s surge coat tails taking the credit and kicking him in the a$$ on everything else. Nice guy.
You express your self much more eloquently that I could.
Amen. As one of the last voters in Florida panhandle in 2000, I can testify that only a few votes can make a huge difference. Bush was supposed to blow out Gore in Florida and I had to twist my wife's arm to get her to the polls that night. That convinced me to NEVER take my vote for granted ever again. So a bad McCain is better than a good Obama any day.
Because if Obama gets in, they might not be coming back outside of a pine box. Their lives are in our hands.
jrooney: “There is no doubt there are Obama trolls slithering through FR threads trying to depress turnout against Obama.”
Please take a moment to consider what you wrote. Millions of people vote in the general election. A few thousand FReepers are hardly worth the time of Obama trolls.
Please consider the possibility that nearly all of the FReepers posting against McCain are telling the truth. I know I am. I have voted Republican for decades. That even includes a proud vote for Dole.
McCain is simply too much to stomach. If he picked a staunch conservative for VP, I could vote knowing the VP would be the most likely heir in 4 years. I wouldn’t be voting McCain so much as the VP. However, McCain has given absolutely no indication he even wants conservative support, so I’m not holding my breath.
McCain is the product of an extremely distorted primary process that is still broke and unlikely to be fixed. Let the RINOs and media sycophants who barely managed to put him over the top vote put him into office. I won’t.
What makes you think McCain will get war funding with a 70+dem majority house and filibuster (including the RINOs) proof senate?
Who might that be? Certainly not McCain.
It won’t destroy America. BUT it will be real crappy for 2 years. There might even be a large scale terrorist attack during that time. I hope not but both candidates are inviting it to happen.
What doesn’t kill us will make us stronger.
Hell if we are real lucky it might just end liberalism.
Hmmm... that's not McCain either.
Which is more likely to happen, a Obamao C&R out of Iraq, or a McCain stick in to win in Iraq?
Granted, the Dhimis will have the power, but in order to run us out of Iraq, the Dhimis will have to have the Presidency to do it...
