It is coming to the USA with a vengence. Gird your loins and make your choices.
What’s the “or else” in this case? What will they do to him if he defies the ruling?
Concise Response: “How do you folks say it - shove it up your a$$?”
I anxiously await the day when a dead fascist hangs from every lamppost.
I guess the Pope will have to steer clear of Canada to avoid getting mired in a human “rights” hearing.
WOW. So long Canada.
“The Canadian government has ordered a Christian pastor to renounce his faith”
In a related story:
Christian pastor tells Canadian government REPENT YOU SINNER!
Why don’t they just order him to be gay and be done with this charade?!?
This is insane. In an amazingly ironic way, the Canadian gov’t is indirectly insulting those gay people who have been victims of ACTUAL hate crimes, such as being stabbed to death just for being gay. Simply stating a belief about the topic is totally not the same thing.
Apparently, free speech is the new hate crime. Life is getting more Orwellian every day.
Before he came to minority power Stephen Harper, Canadian Prime Minister decried the law that was being used to end free speech.
If Harper gets a majority government, we may see some action. Until then we should all be well aware of Orwell's nightmare scenario. It is here.
Government schools are more than able to brainwash children into becoming gay if they want to. I know this because they successfully brainwashed me into other liberal ideas and it took years to shake them off.

Was the movie “V” set in England or Canada? (:-
Whirlednutsdaily? I stopped reading right there.
When it gets to this here in the USA I’m going to incite things that will get me banned from FR for sure.
I think the commission should be flooded with complaints about discrimination and hate speech against Christians.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Try and call the so-called conservative talk shows about stuff like this. They don’t want to hear it.

The opening line of the story is a lie so the credibility of the rest of the article is questionable. It wasn’t the “Canadian Government” that made the order, it was the Alberta Human Rights Tribunal, an agency of the Province of Alberta. The pastor can appeal the ruling to a REAL court and has a good chance of winning.
The tribunal is a regulatory tribunal and as such has judicial independence of government.
The tribunal is a provincial body, not a federal one.
The tribunal is not a court of inherent jurisdiction and as such stare it cannot rule on constitutional construction.
The tribunal's rulings cannot bind other courts.
The minority Canadian government is taking steps to commence a parliamentary enquiry into the conduct of the federal equivalent of this provincial tribunal.
The decisions of this tribunal, like all regulatory tribunals, are subject to court supervision by recourse to the prerogative writs such as certiorari or quo warranto.
Bear in mind that the federal government has no jurisdiction over the enabling legislation respecting provincial regulatory tribunals.
Bear in mind that the current Tory government is a minority government and the opposition consists of parties based on varying degrees of liberalism.
It remains to be seen as to whether a Supreme Court of Canada dominated by Liberal appointees will eventually clip the wings of these high flying "human rights" tribunals.
That said, These tribunals (federal and provincial) have managed to make "human rights" an instrument of oppression and an implement of war in the hands of jihadist complainants.
