It was probably symbolic in some way that Hillary Clinton made everyone of her supporters wait around nearly 45 minutes before she could finally make it to the podium to offer her surrender to Barack Obama and, by extension, the Democrat Party that was waiting around for it to be made official.
It was a fairly perfunctory speech with the exception of the fact that it never once mentioned John McCain, the Republican opponent. Oversight? I think not.
For those of us who have come to loath her and Bill over the years, it was a welcome moment, but now we have Obama to loath for at least the next five months until we can be rid of yet another Democrat liar, schemer, and leech on the body politic.
The fact that the Democrats have abandoned the tradition of a strong, white man as candidate probably speaks more to the failure of their earlier choices, with the exception of the draft-dodging, skirt-c hasing Bill Clinton who "awe shucks" his way into the Oval Office for two unfortunate terms, one of which saw the Democrats lose control of Congress after four decades, the other of which became a stain on Monica's dress.
So why NOT run a woman and a black man? Nothing else has worked or worked out well. That dilettante, John Kerry, proved a big disappointment. Al Gore lost and became a raving lunatic proclaiming the end of the world. Jimmy Carter was a disaster who has since seemingly embraced every dictator on Earth. The roster includes McGovern and Dukakis, now both remembered for their poor campaign performances, their soft, squishy approach to national and world affairs.
In what we must remember are strictly Democrat primary elections, Hillary got outplayed by a smart kid straight out of the Chicago political machine. Few people could have told you who he was when the primaries began. Now, in the villages of Kenya, they are getting out the drums and singing son gs about him.
Now that the cheers have died away, I think a lot of those Hillary supporters are going to stay home in November. Their hopes were so high. Their loss was so crushing. The crown was snatched away and the Clintons kicked to the side of the road while Obamamania carried the day.
Never mind that Obama changes his statements so fast that yesterday's firm conviction is today's reversal and revision, Hillary lost and for that Obama cannot and should not be forgiven by true Democrats. He rolled up the delegates, but he also lost ten of the last sixteen primaries, including large States such as Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Texas. This does not bode well for the youngster.
Now the grownups must turn their attention to a Republican candidate whose convictions are well known, if not always popular. He has been tested in war. He has a long record of public service. He is a nice old white man named John McCain and, in the voting booth, those who dreamed of Hillary will find their hands tremble at the thought of trusting the fate of the nation to "the kid."

The National Anxiety Center?
Someone should set up a “Spurnedwomen4McCain” or aome such website or blog to be their headquarters...
While I think some of this IS racial, much of it is the perception that Obama cut in line in front of Hillary, and now there’s no chance for a woman president in these women’s lifetimes. Also, they are correct in calling him “inadequate” and inexperienced, as well as a con man.
hey man, where’d ya get this picture of my mom from????????
I can’t tell is someone is complainin’ or braggin’.
Thats funny. My son said the same thing.
I’m just waiting for all of those nervous nellies here on FR who were SOOOO convinced that Hiliarly was not only going to be the nominee, but she was liable to be the next President, drag America down to socialism and every kind of amoral disaster imaginable, and I told such people time and again that not only was that shrew not going to be the nominee, that she was finished after this election cycle, and you can take that to the bank.
The Clinton machine has finally had enough sawdust and iron filings thrown into the cogs and gears that it is, before our eyes, being reduced to scrap metal.
Hiliarly had never run for political office on a national basis, had never been truly tested as a candidate for such office, and all that has been proven is that there are an estimated 18 million stupid f’in people out there who were conned by the wife of the Grifter himself.
Toast. Crumbs. It’s over.
It’s legit. Alan is a friend of mine. They write about things that are making people “anxious.”
Oh, and "perestroika," too.
Some Republicans seem to have their eyes half closed, or are looking at current events through the blurry lens of yesteryear.
This is not your parent’s presidential election season. An enormous shift has occurred, and we’d better look it square on, if we’re to counter it with success.
Obama should not be compared to earlier failed Democrat candidates. Although he’s just as much an empty suit as those who went before him. We’d be fools to ignore the fact that his candidacy has an entirely different character than theirs did.
Obama’s candidacy has been elevated to the level of a mass religious experience. His underlying star power, and the euphoria of his supporters, which is driving his engine, should not be underestimated. It’s become much more than “giving it our best shot”. Much more.
It is so powerful, that it has toppled what was arguably the most well entrenched and rock-solid power duo of the Democrat establishment over the last twenty years. All this, from a relative newcomer with less than a full term as a freshman Senator under his belt????
John McCain is a bush-leaguer compared to these committed Marxists. He has prostrated himself before these people and abdicated the last of his honor and integrity to curry favor with them. He’s a fool. They will destroy him for his aiding and abetting.
And we are also fools, if we trust McCain to be our standard bearer and defender. He’ll be nothing of the sort.
See you at the polls. :)
I prefer “submits.”

You got that right!
I take that to mean you'll be voting McCain.
I understand. Many folks on our side have made up their minds that McCain is our best hope, but it's just not true. McCain represents our defeat this November.
It's not just that the candidate doesn't have what it takes to overcome the opposition. It's his campaign, as well. Per latest reports, he's going to be accepting government funds for his campaign. Does that sound like a campaign that's on fire?
There's bound to be division in ranks, no matter the party, or the candidate. Obama doesn't have a 100% lock on the Democrat vote, even with his stellar win. McCain, unfortunately, has even less support from the Republican base, than Obama has from his.
Please consider campaigning for a replacement candidate in the coming months. We really can't afford to lose this November.
“Please consider campaigning for a replacement candidate in the coming months. We really can’t afford to lose this November.”
Well, as Hillary! so eloquently espoused, “ANYTHING can happen between now and the election.” Maybe McCain will stroke out. He is pretty old, you know. *SMIRK*
Keep my name. Ping me come January, 2009. Until then, do what YOUR brain says you must. I will do the same. May the best wo/man win! :)
Ahh..... A Hillary supporter. I might have known...
You know, the 'elephant in the room' during Hillary's entire short political life, is that she isn't qualified to run a day-care, let alone assume the responsibilities of any elected office.
It's amazed me no end, that anyone would support this empty pantsuit for public office.
Hillary’s speech just gave her plausible deniability when she undermines his candidacy with some new information.
There is no doubt whatsoever that Hillary is headed to the political boneyard. The Democrats are unforgiving of their presidential losers, and never give them a second chance.
Hillary should count her lucky stars if that's all that happens to her from here on out. There's the little matter of a criminal trial going on in Los Angeles for campaign finance violations that she's a defendant in. Now that the Democrat establishment has thrown the Clintons out of the palace, they won't have a "get out of jail free" card any longer. Anything can happen now that she and Billy boy are no longer above the law, and odds are, something will.
The Clintons have been Democrat royalty for so long, and have gotten away with so much, and are so accustomed to air cover from every quarter, that I doubt that they even sense the peril they're in. They're probably terrible students of history, and will no doubt take little notice of the historic fate of ousted potentates.
I'll be watching with keen interest, though.
As will I. Thanks for your observation. I'm pullin' for ya.
a joke,
glad my mom didn’t see that post.
:-)
LOL, I missed your excellent graphic last night, I was definitely busy in another thread dealing with a particularly obnoxious troll, but I want you to know I’m saving that graphic of yours, with plans to use it again in the future! (with proper credit of course ;)
Have a great day!

VERY astute observations FRiend, I’m with you on the whole subject of the legal jeopardy the Grifters are facing now that the political immunity of being potential standard bearers is now revoked.
I stand by my tagline in wishing the Clintons all they have coming to them :)
LOL! Yeah, Right.
Broken Glass Republican/Evil Capitalist here. Anyone here that knows me can tell you that. :)
Well darn! You're just my kind of people, in that case.
Pardon my mistake. Nothing personal. Your last post seemed to indicate the opposite to me, but it seems I read too much into your response.

If anyone understands the gravity of the loss of their nobility, it's them.
Still, they are arrogant, pompous, and no doubt feel that they are still entitled to the free passes and protections they've enjoyed for so long. Even knowing what they know, it may be hard for these two to come to grips with their change of status.
Whether they like it or not, their demoted status will come with a price (for them).
Handshake accepted. :)
